Food Not Bombs is one of the fastest growing revolutionary movements active in North America today and is gaining momentum all over the world. There are hundreds of autonomous chapters sharing vegetarian food with hungry people and protesting war and poverty throughout the Americas, Europe and Australia. The first group was formed in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1980 by anti-nuclear activists. Food Not Bombs is an all volunteer organization which has no formal leaders and strives to include everyone in its decision making process. Each group recovers food that would otherwise be thrown out and makes fresh hot vegetarian meals that are served in city parks to anyone without restriction. The groups also serve free vegetarian meals at protests and other events.

thanks for your support! most people already know about the animal rescue site, but if you don't, please visit it, especially on the weekends, their numbers drop by thousands fri-sun. with 1 simple and free click you can know that you helped feed shelter animals! just think of all those furry, feathery, and sometimes scaly happy faces after a nice tasty bowl! :) much love, bre
making anarchy matter - how do we do it? ive been talking to people
lately about making our actions more meaningful or relevant, how we
handle issues within our movement, society, or alongside others'
struggles. for example, in a community like city heights, how can we
make a struggle against oppressive systems appeal or seem necessary to
an immigrant, a worker, an unemployed person, a religious person, etc?
this is something that comes up in my various projects and living
situation, and i feel like it is important to address in general. who
else thinks about this?
so maybe if i get enough responses i can put them together to share
somehow, so share ideas (and if you feel like it would be useful, could
somebody translate and share this with others?)
