If you've heard the EPs you might think there's an English gentility about Santa Dog but tonight your thoughts would have been nursing their wounds in the local A&E because Santa Dog prove they have balls. Quite wonderful
SoundsXP live review
Santa Dog play sparkly, summer-soaked pop with chiming guitars and a sinister perimeter. Think Blondie going two rounds with the Smiths on the edge of a cliff with a stiff breeze whipping up skirts and causing mischief and you're still nowhere near capturing the band's distinctive sound and uniquely English charm.
Formed in 2005, the band initially self-released three EPs, followed by a 7" with SoundsXPerience and debut album with Quince Records in Japan. The band have received airplay on Radio 1 (Huw Stephens), Kerrang (Cntrl, Alt Delete & Indie Nation shows), XFM Scotland (Jim Gellatly) and numerous worldwide specialist alt/indie shows including Babes in Boyland (Paris), Popscene (Radio Bremen, Germany) & US college radio.
Live, Santa Dog have played all over the UK and further afield, including dates in Paris, Toronto, & Austria.
