About me:
STOP AIDS Project aims to prevent HIV Transmission among all gay, bisexual and transgender men in San Francisco. Staff and volunteers help people make personal commitments to their own health and build a community of support among gay, bi and trans men.
Almost every night STOP AIDS Project staff and volunteers are out in San Francisco doing neighborhood outreach, workshops, community forums, or social support events. STOP AIDS remains a part of the community with more than 300 volunteers advising our programs and talking peer to peer with gay, bi, and trans men in San Francisco. Instead of trying to talk with every gay, bi or guy in the city, we focus our efforts on the times and places where guys meet.
At STOP AIDS we appreciate the work our volunteers do and view them as the most necessary part of achieving our mission. We aim to have a volunteer team as diverse as the city itself and we show our appreciation for our volunteers at special volunteer events throughout the year. Meet new people! Win an award! Get a goody bag! Let us buy you dinner! Free condoms! Well, they're free anyway, but you get the idea.
