A southern belle by definition, Sarafina expresses her music and message like no other through song and lyric. Born in 1988, in Newnan, GA, Sarafina has spent the majority of her life in Fayetteville, GA. She has been featured in several plays, including “Phantom of the Opera”, and the extraordinary choreopoem by Ntozake Shange “For Colored Girls Who have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow is Enuf”. An acclaimed poet, Sarafina was featured in Turner South’s “My South Speaks” campaign, also claiming the 1st runner up position along with a cash prize in the competition. Still, Sarafina is most known for her beautiful singing voice, soulful and sympathetic lyrics, and musicianship. She accompanies herself for most performances, using either a piano or guitar as her instrument. She has been featured at Black on Black Rhyme Atlanta, Apache Cafe, Utopia, Abyss' Acoustic Garden @ The Sanctuary, Lillian's, The Five Spot, The Vision Collective @ The Grounds, Kat's Cafe, Erotically Speaking, Faces (in Charlotte, NC) LoveNoise Nashville, and many others.
