MySpace a place for friends

***Note: To scroll down, use the white tab (outlined in pink) to the right of this box... I have a lovely family and a great set of friends. My daughter is a beautiful 10-and-a-half-year-old now and I am so very proud of her. My family is mostly planted in Minnesota (my home state). I was excited to welcome another nephew this February - Carter Paul - and add him to my list of kids to spoil (in addition to my own and Laura's other two dearies!). I'm a creature of habit and I like it that way. Not to say that I can't be entertaining and spontaneous, but a typical week for me remains - well, typical from week to week with the occasional smattering of healthy digression. I enjoy music - singing, practicing piano, writing - and do as much of it as I can. I don't sing too much "formally" anymore, but manage to get a good aria in every now and then in my shower. I've begun giving voice lessons again, but not too many students. I love to read. Historical fiction is my favorite. Margaret George has overtaken Phillippa Gregory as my favorite author, but PG is right behind her. Both women are fabulous scene-setters and storytellers. I have loved everything I've ever read by either of them (I've read ALL of PG's stuff). My favorite by MG is probably her Cleopatra novel, but the Queen of Scots was fab too. My full time job is at the Holiday Inn Monticello as their Director of Sales (new gig as of March) and I still have a part time job at the health club (where I used to be full time). I keep busy between those two and the voice lessons, but am thankful that I still have time to spend w/ my loved ones outside of work. Both workplaces are wonderfully supportive of me and my need to be a mom before anything else. I consider myself blessed. I think this just about sums me up in a nutshell.

I'm happy with those already in my life! But I'd love to meet any of those people for coffee sometime...
