“An album of the year contender.”
Iain Shedden, The Australian, 11th July 2009
“It is the kind of album that, even with five months left of 2009, should be a serious
contender for album of the year.”
Sunday Herald Sun, 19th July 2009
“It’s her best yet.”
Daily Telegraph, 19th July 2009
“Sarah’s music has always had an ethereal quality, and together with Björn she has made what will be one of the most interesting and beautiful Australian albums of 2009.”
Vijay Khurana, JMag July 2009
“Produced by Björn Yttling of Peter, Björn and John in Stockholm, the irony is that
despite the freezing climate it was recorded in, this is as warm as Blasko has ever sounded – immaculate, organic and airy … there’s also a sense of freedom, and a feeling that the listener has been invited in to enjoy Blasko’s brilliance, not just forced to admire it from a distance.”
Rolling Stone, July 2009
“As Day Follows Night is a startling work, redrawing the boundaries of Blasko’s music,
but is also something of a revelation from an already much-valued artist.”
Craig Mathieson, Sydney Morning Herald/The Age, 18th July 2009
“As Day Follows Night is a pop album in the same sense that Nina Simone or Kate Bush
albums are pop – great music, evocative lyrics and, most of all, a stunning vocal
performance. Here, Blasko has cultivated a most beautiful specimen.”
Simon Collins, The West Australian, 2nd July 2009
"The album is a triumph. It is one of those breakthrough records that only when it arrives and you hear the progression in spirit and song you see the potential that was always there, just waiting for the artist to make the jump. And Blasko has made a leap. This is the best group of songs she has ever put together, her voice has never sounded so good, and her lyrics are divine."
Robert Forster, The Monthly, August 2009

THANK YOU for playing an AWESOME set at Marion Bay! I absolutely adored it. That, and your dress! With the flag pocket! I'm still filled with the excitement from Falls! x
my dad wrote this poem for my mum in response to an interview with you where you wished you could change your freckles. she has freckles too
tiny stars
could i number your freckles, heartbreaking speckles of light on your face, they darken, minute blushes in the sun, telling me stories, from time, in place, keep a total in my head, distracted by the abstract numbers, whilst whispering, wishing, she loves me, she loves me not, until the sun sets, tugging the sheets of night, over my body, drifting me to sleep, in the deep i'm lifted by dreams, where i'm kissing every last one, of those tiny stars, scattered across the skies of your skin, hoping to lose count, like a child, so that i'd have to start, all over again
Miss Blasko, You should know my niece Isabella has had an imaginary friend called Sarah Blasko for quite a while now. Apparrantly you're her sister too, you live in a rainbow house in Mexico and have 10 babies (mostly girls). You also get sick and lose your shoes rather frequently. Thought you should know about your secret double lfe in Tassie! Looking forward to catching your lovely set at the Marion falls ^_^
