i am not the biggest of readers, i have a large collection of reference non-fiction but lots of it is scarily out of date - still that does make it reference and history all in one! Thus saying i am a fan of Neil Gaiman's Sandman novels, Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker novels... and those novels that have made me question my perceptions...
"Crying of lot 49" by Thomas Pynchon... The Third Policeman by Flann O'Brien... Julian Barnes History of the World in 10 and a half Chapters... And most recently Lazarillo De Tormes (astoundingly entertaining read)
And i must say thank you to those who have recommended things that have changed my views... still got Tom Wolfe to go...
