About me: I dig my life! Music has, is and always will be around, knowing that, all I can say is LA VIE EST BELLE!!! I've been living my dream since I was born...The inspiration started early, both my parents are musicians, my mother a singer, piano and guitar player and my father a piano player and producer/engineer, and all 3 of my siblings aspired to do the same thing, create. When my maman saw that her kids had caught on to the music that had been surrounding us, she decided to start a band. So, when I was 7, my first band called Kanicosa hit the road. Touring for as long as two months at a time, we played festivals and schools across Canada. 7 years later, at the age of 14, I found my first non family member band mates, hihi! And so it goes, Rudimental was formed, a soul, afrobeat, latin, funk band...Whatever the style, we probably played it. We have had the chance to tour mostly throughout Canada, but also in Louisiana...Oh yes! We also released a Cd of original compositions in 2003, self titled (Rudimental).
At the age of 15, myself and a few other crazy french ladies, started the band that took over my life, called Madrigaia. We were 7 singers and 1 percussionist. Singing in over 16 languages, often fusing different cultures either through rhythm, melody or lyrics. We have toured throughout Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, France, Switzerland, Haiti, and Oregon USA.
I have recently jumped on an intirely different band wagon, that one being the Duhks from Winnipeg. Now about 5 months in, we've covered the U.S. and made a quick jaunt over to Ireland. We will be focusing on writing for the months to come and will be in the studio by late December working on the new record, very exciting!!
Un petit à coté, I danced for 7 years @ the Winnipeg Contemporary Dancers, 4 of those years were in the junior professional program.
I hope to eventually put out a record of original compositions, hopefully I'll get my ass in gear and have a couple tracks to show on myspace sometime soon...Until then...Just gotta love the journey!!
I created my own profile using nUCLEArcENTURy.COM and you should too!
