Bio
Paying respect to folk, roots and country music styles, Sarah Jane Scouten writes honest songs that are reminiscent of John Prine's candour and Stan Rogers' love of ballads. They range from woeful to light-hearted and cheeky. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, and raised on Hank Williams and Scruggs-style banjo, Sarah has since incorporated traditional American styling, gospel music, fiddle tunes, and songs written for the Appalachian dulcimer into a brand of song-writing, which is said to be, all her own. -
