One of the last pupils of the late Donald Riddell, Sarah-Jane was brought up steeped in the old Highland style of fiddle playing. Add to this a love of playing the Norwegian Hardanger fiddle and the result is a unique sound described as:
"lush Highland fiddle with a Nordic edge"
(Cromarty Old Brewery)
A founder member of Nu-Nordic band, Fribo, she has toured extensively and performed at festivals such as WOMAD, Celtic Connections, etc.
Much in demand as a fiddler tutor, Sarah-Jane teaches regularly worldwide. She currently teaches at, and is the director of, the RSAMD Junior Academy Traditional Music course.
Kouame Sereba was awarded the price Folk Musician of the Year during the Folk Music Awards at Folkelarm. (Oslo- Norway) - "Thank you" is a word that covers my feelings right now, said a deeply touched Sereba.
hmmm - between Duncan and Bosie -- that's not bad either. I am working on the schedule - would love to meet up if it could work out. Might still take me a few weeks to get a better idea how long I can stay. My concert in London is Feb 24 and I'm trying to stay a week longer, but it's up in the air -- will update you soon...Barry
I'm very glad to have you on my new page and it was great listening to you. Have a beautful week and stop by and say hello! It would be great to hear from you.
We enjoyed your set and musicianship at The Star last night, but had to leave early unfortunately - I particularly enjoyed 'Underwater Gardening'(?) - ours was a bit short-notice, hurried and tuning problems at the start but I think we got there in the end. . good luck with whatever you are up to next. . .Clearance
