Which Mel Brooks Movie Are You?
.. You are Spaceballs! You have a strange obsession with odd furry creatures and you need to pick your helmet up when drinking coffee. You can go from suck to blow in a matter of seconds, but you're really just looking for a good time in a winnebago. Take this quiz!

| | Movies | Movies: Star Wars (all of them), X-men, Spiderman, When Harry Met Sally, Princess Bride, and, well, let's just say my DVD case is overflowing. However, if you want to talk genres: Romantic Comedies, Fantasy (good fantasy, not B-movie tripe), Sci-fi (again, I try to avoid the cheese), Action, Thrillers, occasionally, some Horror. If it involes zombies, so much the better. | | Television | In order of the week: Heroes. Medium. Fringe. the Biggest Loser. LOST. Supernatural. The Stargates. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Dollhouse. Battlestar Gallactica. | | Books | I'm an English major, put a book in front of me, if I haven't already read it, I'll read it soon. That being said, the series that has probably impacted me the most: Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time, since it created the community that introduced me to my husband. | | Heroes | Anyone who ever took a stand for what they believed in -- the ones who drew a line in the sand and said, "You shall not cross." Anyone who ever overcame great obstacles to get where they wanted to be and then helped others achieve their goals. And anyone who is just that good at what they do. Rosa Parks; MLK, Jr.; Elizabeth Cady Stanton; Shakespeare and the other writers I listed above; any or all of the "Founding Fathers" and the "Founding Mothers," too; Sojourner Truth; Amelia Earhart; Meryl Streep. The list is endless, History is full of heroes.
Closer to home, my maternal grandmother. Seven kids out of eight made it to adulthood on a dirt poor East Texas farm. She did it with a disabled husband and no welfare. One of her kids has two Master's degrees, one is a small business owner, the rest are doing quite well for themselves, also. She taught them that it was better to be FROM a poor East Texas dirt farm than to end up or stay at one. I'm just sorry she passed away before I was born. |

About me:

I was that smart girl in high school... The one that probably was pretty, but had really thick glasses and an unflattering hairstyle, so you never could really tell. The one that pissed you off when she aced her tests without studying.
Then I went to college and discovered my inner cheerleader (by way of Chi Omega) and beer fiend. Blew a few million brain cells and discovered one actually had to study in college. Discovered I was a writer. Which is sorta like discovering you're insane, but with the (extremely unlikely) possiblilty of making money off it. The next ten years were warped with the quest to find a day job that was compatible with writing (because one MUST pay rent) but that didn't include the words, "Would you like fries with that?"
While on my quest, met my husband online. Yes. I married a man I met online. On a book discussion website. Not a day goes by where I don't feel extremly fortunate he's in my life and I love him so very much.
And if you're curious, you can find my sole claim to fame on Amazon.com:
http://www.amazon.com/Sword-Sorceress-XV/dp/0886777682/sr=1-1/qid=1159971397/ref=sr_1_1/104-7361988-8642346?ie=UTF8&s=books

Who I'd like to meet:
Well, there are a few (dozen) Theorylanders I haven't met yet, that I'd like to. Hopefully that list will be well and truly shrunken after The Gathering in August. In the hypothetical department, St. Paul. The man who, singlehandedly, did more to shape an entire gender than they themselves did and was responsbile for 2000 years+ of sexual inequity. And then I'll probably smack him upside the head.
Maya Angelou. So I can genuflect and exclaim, "We're NOT worthy!" Ditto Emily Dickenson.
Robert Jordan. To thank him for a wonderful book series and ultimately the series of events that brought about my marriage. Rest In Peace, Dragon.
Shakespeare. See Maya Angelou.
Laurell K. Hamilton. Anita Blake is a wonderful character, but even more so, her blog makes me want to write more.
