I mostly listen to early 90's punk rock and alternative, so I'm sure that's in there somewhere, along with a fair bit of chick rock, along the lines of 10,000 Maniacs, Ani, Tori, Sarah MacLaughlin, etc. Also a bit of celtic folk music, mostly Irish.
Influences are strange to list out. Make up your own mind what it sounds like.
I've been playing guitar sporadically since I was 14, and it's always been just a hobby.
I was in a 4-chord punk rock band in high school called "Shut Up Mat," but when that didn't work out (when do they ever?), I started writing stuff just for the acoustic and have been doing it ever since.
I write a new song maybe once a year. They're few and far between, and sometimes take a few years to finish, but it's always satisfying when I finally have a finished product.
