"Mucho's got serious singing chops with a legit top that can soar into the stratesphere and a mid-range belt that will knock you off your chair." -David Hurst, Show Business Weekly
Sarah Mucho arrived in NYC at the tender age of 18, equipped only with a high school education and a tremendous amount of raw talent. Since then, Sarah has been cultivating her talent at an astoundingly rapid pace, producing an array of compelling work and establishing herself as a creative force to be reckoned with. Known as the rocker, the chanteuse, the performance artist and the actress, Sarah excels in all that she strives to be.
Sarah is most accomplished as the ferocious front woman for the artsy, Brooklyn-based rock band System Noise (www.myspace.com/systemnoise). They have released 2 original albums (with one on the way) and they have been performing in and around the NY Metropolitan area for 6 years, consistently delivering infamous high-voltage live shows. You can experience what has been referred to as “art rock for a whole new generation” on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at NYC’s underground rock club The Delancey.
Sarah also found success through her electrifying live interpretation of the classic David Bowie album "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars" which was in demand for well over a year after opening and left audiences begging for more. The show was originally part of the award winning cabaret series Under the Covers and was nominated for a 2005 MAC Award. Incidentally, Sarah was also the recipient of the 2008 MAC Award for her work as an entertainer in NYC’s legendary piano bar Don’t Tell Mama.
Sarah’s most recent project is Subterranean Circus, a futuristic cautionary tale blending surreal, sometimes sacrilegious humor with a haunting, apocalyptic vibe. Progressive and provocative, it echoes of early 80s punk rock performance art and old world cabaret. Sarah Mucho, with an eclectic band led by Bobby Peaco at the piano, shares stories, lessons and fables through a variety of music including songs by Tom Waits, Simon & Garfunkel, Bjork, Neil Young and the Kinks. Subterranean Circus has received nothing but rave reviews.
"It is a potpourri of madness and mania with surreal images gleaned from the songs. Mucho wails, belts and whispers with an intensity that almost explodes. Her unapologetic mystique sets her apart." -John Hogland, Cabaret Scenes
"I have never seen cabaret like this. Mucho is ballsy and different and magnificent. Subterranean Circus leaves you blinking into the house lights, wondering where the hell you've been for the last hour, and how soon you can go back." -Bisanne Masoud, Cabaret Exchange
Bold, versatile and out of the ordinary, Sarah is continuously gaining new fans that are anxious to see what she will do next.
