Shortly after her EP release in 2007, Sarah was nominated for two Madison Area Music Awards in her home town for best new artist and best electronic song. That summer she packed her bags eager to take on a new city full of new sounds. Eventually she found a home next to a small recording studio in the basement of a coffeeshop in St. Paul.
Most of her songs seem to pour from her guitar in the wee hours of the morning when all the world seems to have fallen asleep. Then in the day you can find her singing and playing acoustic guitar and piano at any coffee house, college, main stage, and sidewalk corner she can find.
"Sarah's shows retain the same sense of spontaneity and originality in which her songs were conceived. Unexpected plot twists, dramatic tempo changes, hand drumming, and Sarah's rich soulful voice are what best characterize Sarah Pray and her band." --Sheboyan Press
