These are people who mostly have a singing style (not necessarily lifestyle) that have influenced me: Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Tori Amos, Jewel, Sarah, McClachlan, Leann Rimes, Carrie Underwood, Cranberries, Michael Bolton, Natalie Grant, Downhere, Yolanda Adams, Sara Groves, Jaci Velasquez, Darlene Zschech, Sandi Patty, Nichole Nordeman, Switchfoot, Downhere, etc., and I love it when people sing with soul and conviction.

My name is Sarah Von Bergen but I use Sarah V to make it short and easy. I'm a song writer and a singer of Christian music. I have written 20+ Christian songs so far and the goal is to make an album of mostly original songs. The biggest goal is to minister to people through the messages of the songs and encourage people to have hope, perseverance, and to overcome.
I gain encouragement from the scripture in Revelations that says, when God opens a door, no man can close it, and when God closes a door, no one can open it. So when something doesn't seem to be going the way I wanted to or planned, I remind myself that God is in control and he is guiding my steps and my life!
This scripture is very fitting for my life:
Psalm 40:1-5 (New International Version)
"I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD. Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods. Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare."

Great quote:
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?" Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Yes, ever since Chris Daughtry came out with that song, it always reminded me of my family and now I am coming home. The prodigal daughter. lol Chris Daughtry lives right around the corner from me and sometimes we see him with his family. I will miss seeing him. He always waves when we are sitting outside.
