Sara Hanson is a writer and performer of honest music who has an affecting voice and an unforgettable stage presence. Pulling from personal experience, emotion and a keen observation of relationships, she has developed a lyrical style that is bold, clever and
beautiful.
Sara is now based in San Diego, by way of Austin, Texas and Santa Fe. While in Austin, Sara played at the famous Ranch 616 on most Sunday nights, where she performed memorable (and popular) covers of country tunes along with her own work. She could also be seen regularly at other clubs and venues around the city.
Before moving to Austin, Sara attended the College of Santa Fe¹s Contemporary Music Program. After graduating as the year¹s Outstanding Senior in 1999, Sara recorded her first CD at Santa Fe¹s Fourth World Studios. That CD, Illusion, was released in July 2000, followed by a western states tour. Her second album, Going Fast, was released in 2003. After college, Sara spent several years collaborating and performing with some of the world-class musicians who call Santa Fe home.
Saras most recent work, a five song EP titled "CAKE", was released in October 2005. The EP, which features five of Sara's newer songs, was recorded in Austin by Michael Shay. Ben Wright of the critically acclaimed band d numbers also plays on the record. The CD was a natural next step for Sara, demonstrating the influence of Austin on her sound, and creative partnerships with the musicians she met while living there.
Sara has happily adjusted to life in Southern California and so has her sound. Armed with a loop pedal, an electric guitar, and a new Primus cover, this little folk singer has got a genre all her own! And a new recording can't be too far off. Sara is already working with several local musicians and appearing at popular San Diego venues.
All of Sara's music is available at cdbaby.com.

You're one of few and you have your own category. I only have to see you shortly to know I care. Also, stuff is good and I am really embracing the sun up to sun down thing. Man I can work. I'm gonna try this for a while -- Main job, my inventions, music, and going to see music and love if lucky. I'll let you know . I always you
