As seen on SKY, OK, Unseen TV, BBC3 TV, Hellenic and POK TV Sara Lilly is making quite a name for herself as an Americana artist with a distinctive and beautiful voice. Since giving up a professional job in the City in 2010 to follow her dream and passion Sara Lilly released her debut album Butterfly Sara which is 5 star rated on iTunes and Amazon. She wrote Round & Round at 15 and Destiny at 16.. Butterfly, Beautiful and Strawberry Girl are the favourites on the album with her fans. n the first few days after releasing Butterfly it reached number 11 of the 100 most popular Country albums on Amazon where it stayed for quite a while. This doesn't sound like much of an achievement until Sara mentions in passing that there had been no PR budget - proof that quality music is discovered on the net. "I am still not sure what this means" she says "except that people are liking my music. Thank you so much again!!" Sara was the only unsigned artist in this chart up there with Dolly Parton, Cash and Taylor Swift. "Beautiful was written from my heart and I couldn't play it for 6 months after I had written it as it evoked too many memories...Writing and singing is just something that means the world to me and I am so lucky to have this gift" Her gift for music helped her during some dark days when she suffered from Anorexia Nervosa from the age of 14 to 21 and nearly died going down to 4 stones which for her 5 ft 8' frame was life threatening. Since getting better she hasn't looked back and appreciates every day so much more. Due to a global fan base from the US to Asia and Europe Sara Lilly is gaining some recognition for her natural talent and ability to write heartfelt lyrics and catchy melodies. Her voice live is quite exceptional and has reduced some of her fans to tears especially when singing songs like Beautiful. "I have received mail from fans who have thanked me for writing Beautiful and Butterfly - I guess it resonated with them...most of us have suffered loss at some point in our lives and I am glad that my music has helped in some way." Sara continues to work full time on her music and works with some great people who have helped her along the way including BJ Cole who is a true talent. "BJ played on Someday Soon - he is top quality and it is fabulous that he also respects my work as an artist. I hope we will always work together." In 2011 Sara worked with legendary producer Mike Bennett and re recorded Strawberry Girl, Beautiful and another new song..."Working at Far Heath Studios was an incredible experience. Mike Bennett and Angus Wallace who is an exceptional sound engineer taught me so much and I am looking forward to releasing my second album in 2012. I am over halfway through recording it and have also enjoyed working with Ed Case on collaborations such as Smiling Assassins." Sara has also been busy co writing in different genres like DubStep and also Garage "It's good to be versatile but my core genre is Americana this is where I am most at home and comfortable."
