"Tomorrows Laughter has such a brilliant 60s feel to
it...." IS THIS MUSIC?
"Every genre she touches feels right, but not without with her own
delightfully mischievous tweek. She shows astounding potential as a
orchestral artist, and I'm sure that once Tomorrow's Laughter makes its rounds
she will have no shortage of artists chomping at the
bit to collaborate on her first full length LP." PLASTIC ASHTRAY
"In Lowes' world we can all lead a simpler life, one of autumn sun and
never-ending melody, and I honestly can't remember the last time I came
across a debut so
accomplished." FUGITIVE MOTEL
"Keep your eye on Sara Lowes, I reckon we'll see a lot more of her" SPIRAL EARTH
"Excting times ahead for this young lady if this mini album is anything to go by" THE BEAT SURRENDER
LIVE REVIEWS :
Tindersticks support at Royal Festival Hall (3rd May 2008)
"Tonight's support comes from Sara Lowes, who has spent years lending her dreamy vocals to acts like King Creosote, The Earlies, Micah P Hinson and Jim Noir, but her days in the shadows are long gone if this remarkable display is anything to go by, as the crowd are quickly won over by the talented Northern lass's swoonsome, melancholy offerings. Lowes sits for the most part at the piano, but also plucks at the acoustic guitar, and during one song even treats us to a saxophone solo on the kazoo, while her drummer plays the bass with one hand, coaxing out steady rhythms with the other, and stopping only to pick up a trombone for another playful solo towards the end of the set......" Camilla Pia (music.OMH.com)
"Before the ‘Sticks took to the stage we were treated to the self-effacing and beautifully melancholy sounds of support act Sara Lowes. With her skills at the keyboard and accompanied by a drummer of sufficient versatility to play bass and trombone when called upon she was a rare treat, The highlight of her set for me was undoubtedly her rendition of a saxophone solo on a kazoo, which brought rapturous applause from those who had made the effort to get their in time to see her perform. She has a wonderful gentle warm personality that gave her performance a real connection with the audience, and her awe at performing at the Royal Festival Hall was a delight to witness...." Christine Cleere, Druid Priest (wildspirit.me.uk)
John Smith, Nancy Elizabeth, Sara Lowes (Sacred Trinity Church - Dec 2007)
".....the fantastic Sara Lowes, who is forging her own solo career after working alongside The Earlies and a host of other folk luminaries. Making piano-led smooth pop, Lowes’s rich voice makes the sheeting rain but a distant memory. ‘I Wish’ is the chirpiest of the set, its infectious piano hook causing widespread nodding of heads, but Sara Lowes really shone when the mood took a more mellow turn. Accompanied by her sister on backing vocals, the deep harmonies were both moving and soothing at the same time. Fabric conditioner for the ears....." Megan Vaughan (manchester music)
