Snake in the Grass
"Alt pop is a wonderful thing. You can pop or rock it out as much as you want, but the basic principles remain: solid verses, sing songy choruses, flashy production. This song slinks along like a snake in the grass, spiking in and out of electro-pop trappings as it winds through it's form. It flexes its muscles between moody pop and fierce alternative like a snake constantly shedding its skin as it grows.
The mix sits extremely well, which is a tribute to the arrangement and artists making the most out of the parts that they have. The artists Portishead, Garbage and Imogen Heap on a dark day come to mind. The pace is very deliberate, and it can be believed that the synth glitz tries to overshadow the overall form and lack of rhythmic intensity, but with the right state of mind, this song can be a killer."

Reviewers of the song "Walk Me Home" said "Natalie Merchant"esque", a kind of rockabilly like the stray cats, like the nekromantix "Haunted cathouse", a pulp fiction soundtrack, and a fusing together of Phish and Bonnie Raitt, Chrissie Hynde from the Pretenders, and a combination of Adele and the Stray Cats." Hmmmmm..... you have a listen and be the judge!

Vancouver’s Sara Lynn is not who you think she is. Just when you imagine you’ve got her pegged, the singer, songwriter will up and surprise you by revealing something that makes you reconsider your original hypothesis. And ”Don’t Call Me Angel”, her sophomore release, carries on the ever-evolving Sara Lynn story in a most fitting fashion.
Sure she’s got the killer looks, keen fashion sense, confident swagger and vocal chops of a top-of-the-charts diva-in-the-making, but Sara Lynn is so much more than your average pop princess. Think Amy Winehouse’s retro groove, the worldly pop of Madonna, a smidgen of soulful Adele and a pinch of Natalie Merchant-style Americana and you’ve found a starting point for this leg of Sara Lynn’s musical journey...
