PRSF and CASH CREATIVE EXCHANGE August 2008 (see http://joebennett.vox.com):
I am grateful to Arts Council England, Connections and THE HUB (see top friends) for supporting my music via a bursary and mentor scheme in 2008.
To be on my once monthly e-mailing list go to www.saraspade.com or email me at info@saraspade.com. Or if you wish to receive myspace updates subscribe to my blog. I don't do event invites because for some bizarre reason you have to select each individual recipient and this takes all day (hmmm not really up my street).
I have an album for sale called 'All you want' and an EP called 'The Stables Sessions'. This was recorded courtesy of The Stables, Wavenden as part of the Singer-songwriter development programme (www.stables.org). You can buy both CDs from www.saraspade.com. I will be recording new songs very soon.
You can download songs for FREE (for the first 100 dowloads) from www.madbouncydogs.com/store/index.php?selected_artist=26

SWEET BABOO is one of those rarities, a singer-songwriter that has no preachy clichés, doesn’t take himself too seriously and has humour without being a novelty act.

Sara Spade, live at Northampton’s Legendary Labour Club, 11th April 2009
Sara Spade is the new birth of cool, and the total capacity of people crowded into Northampton’s Legendary Labour Club, (a tiny club tucked away in Northampton’s “Mounts” district), was an honest reflection of her emergent status as a singer songwriter. Her forty-minute set consisted of own compositions and excellent cover versions. Each song was like a dream and performed to perfection despite her nervousness of such an expectant crowd. This petite and reserved young female overflowed with charisma and self-belief that was in keeping with an “old hand” rather than some one so innocent as an entertainer. The crowd was captivated by her unique expression of her songs and listened to every note from every dreamy jazz ballad and from the very start she had them wanting and shouting for more.
11th April: The Boiler Club presents: Unsigned Heroes:
The Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Jazz Band
Well, the joint was rocking, going round 'n' round, yeah, reeling and a-rocking, what a crazy sound, well they were bopping and a rockin to “The Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Jazz Band”. Fresh from a celebrated performance at Gaz Mayall, longest running one-nighter, “Gaz's Rockin Blues”, Soho, London. The Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band rolled into Northampton’s Legendary Labour Club and were ready to rip up the joint with a mix of Bebop/ Trad/ Hot/ Ragtime jazz and Blues. Seven hip cats dressed in 1940s hats and suits started loosening up on stage at 22.30 hours, and for the next sixty minutes they played a red hot set of jazz, swing, and bona fide cover versions. The Rhythm Section provided the pulse, beat, and a scorching groove that complimented the boogie-woogie piano and vocals, a three-piece horn section, and lead guitar. “When the saints, My baby just cares for me, Mac the knife”, and so many more, had never sounded so good to the capacity crowd who were jammed into this tiny club which is tucked away in the middle of Northampton’s “Mounts” district. The crowd bopped, danced and grooved to the wonderful sound pulsating within the cramped confines of the club, man…… those seven jazz cats were bad, really really bad, catch em while you can, and lets get em back.
