I Ratapignata sono nati nel 1998 a Cagliari, piccola e creativa città del sud Sardegna.
La band è composta da 10 elementi, provenienti da diverse esperienze musicali ma accomunati dalla passione per lo ska, il reggae e il rocksteady dei primordi.
La loro musica è una miscela di stili, ritmi e suoni, impreziosita dai testi in lingua sarda scritti dal cantante Lele Pittoni, che parlano delle gioie e dei dolori, delle difficoltà e delle soddisfazioni della vita quotidiana, in un’isola perennemente in bilico tra modernità e tradizione.
In 10 anni di attività, i Ratapignata hanno girato la Sardegna e l’Italia e hanno aperto i concerti di New York Ska Jazz Ensemble, Amparanoia, Linea 77, Folkabbestia, Banda Bassotti, ecc..
“Son’e Magasinu” è il loro secondo album, completamente autoprodotto e registrato nel loro studio sotto la guida dell’ingegnere del suono e produttore artistico Enrico Rocca. Il disco è composto da 10 tracce inedite e un remix del dj/producer Frantziscu “Arrogalla” Medda. Le splendide illustrazioni che caratterizzano la confezione sono opera dell’artista cagliaritano Federico Carta.

Ratapignata was formed in 1998 in Cagliari, a small and creative town in South Sardinia. The band is composed of 10 musicians who come from very different backgrounds but share a passion for the early times of ska, reggae and rocksteady music.
Their music is a blend of styles, rhythms and sounds embellished by peculiar lyrics, written in sardinian language by the singer Lele Pittoni, who deals with the joys and sorrows, the troubles and satisfactions of everyday life, in an island that’s perpetually balancing between modernity and tradition.
In 10 years of activity, Ratapignata toured Sardinia and Italy, and played as opening act for New York Ska Jazz Ensemble, Amparanoia, Linea 77, Folkabbestia, Banda Bassotti, etc…
“Son’e Magasinu” is their second album, completely self-produced and recorded in the band’s studio under the guidance of the sound engineer and artistic producer Enrico Rocca. The album is composed of 10 unreleased tracks and a remix by the dj/producer Frantziscu “Arrogalla” Medda. The superb cover and booklet art is the work of the sardinian painter Federico Carta.
