Guitar and everything else by super-genius Kenny Mitchell
(He also produced it, and I will owe him royalties someday)
"Pumpkinz 'N Da Ghetto"
(That's the jam -- ya heard?!)
Words and mumbling by Sara Depp - 2006
Presenting the return of super-genius Kenny, who wrote and performed the music
Backing vocals and ghetto-fabulous spider also performed by Kenny, with relish
"Moonage Daydream"
Words and music by David Bowie - 1972
(David, please don't sue me...I LOVE you!!)
All vocals and guitar by Sara
(Recorded Feb. 2006 at 4:00 AM, and I've got the dark circles to prove it)
"After the Gold Rush"
Words and music by Neil Young - 1970
(Please don't sue me, either...you rock! Imitation is flattery, etc.!!)
All vocals and gee-tar by Sara
(Recorded over Thanksgiving break, 2005)
Kenny also created both pumpkin graphics. Mad props, big ups, and...due process? Ya get the picture.
Influences
Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel, David Bowie, The Beatles, Buddy Holly, my fuzzy wuzzy Noseichka ;), all 80s synth music (I'm learning), my family, my groovy musical buddies, and every music teacher I have ever had.
And of course...
Sounds Like
I've been told that I sound like Mama Cass (hooray), Hilary Duff (blech), and Frank Sinatra (wha?). I'm not sure I agree with any of those intimations...if I had to come up with an answer on the spot, I'd probably say I sound a bit like Luscious Jackson, which is not necessarily a good thing.
I'm a stumpy little teenager who loves to sing, write, totally rip off her favorite bands, and make multi-tracked demos on her ghetto home computer setup. I've got an acoustic guitar that rocks out with surprising chutzpah, a cello that sounds like crap but looks really shiny, a uniquely wonderful British-horrible Stylophone, a box of oddly-scented harmonicas, some broken keyboards, my mother's tambourine, several kazoos, and a melodica that was only used previously by my beloved grandma to play "Happy Birthday", and I'm COMIN' TO YOUR TOWN!! Well, probably not...I do enjoy it here in WeHo. In any case, thanks for checkin' out mah page! Take a listen, and enjoy this psycho bus ride with me. (Yeah, I sing on the bus...it's a lot of fun!) I WOULD ADORE YOUR FEEDBACK, PRETTY PLEASE!!
Shameless self-promotion? You better, you better, you bet.

damn ghetto pumpkins have the juiciest gourds ever. i drank your gospel and felt the pumpkin patches of the world rise to your testament.
The whole white western world needs to stop treating pumpkins like their a seasonal item to be forgotten about past holloween, and your song is gonna bring up the recognition and pave the way for pumpkin rights movements to spread like the ivy's that corrupt so many of the pumpkin patches just trying to grow and thrive off the land.
oh sara you today has just proven that you are damn good.i do like the pumkin getho thing song but mostly because you sound so good.i can't believe it.if you keep recording like this you'll have money soon girl.the efects the backings....everything....very proffesional.sara.congratulations.i must day that i forgot about the pumkin song, i still love it but i don't see any real difference between the two....anyways i love them the same for me it's the flavour of the song that counts and i must say that the pumkin song is still popydellic fantastic.one of my favourites around my space.
Oops, I forgot one more thing.... the pix that go with both pumpkin songs are GREAT! (You'll tell me later how they came to be, I'm sure). The pumpkin with the bling-bling "S" necklace around its "neck" had me ROFL!!!
