Dödsthrasharna i SARCASTIC tar onekligen det slitna uttrycket "Bättre sent än aldrig" till sin spets. Demon "Forever Fucked Up Chaos" färdigställdes redan 2004, men en bandpaus försenade releasen fyra år. Andra hade kanske slängt inspelningen i papperskorgen och börjat på nytt, men SARCASTIC gör det enda rätta med den försenade utgivningen. Materialet är för bra för att kastas bort.Opolerat på sina håll visserligen och knappast någon överdosering i nytänkande, men ändå inte tokigt. Om det inte dröjer över fyra år till nästa demo, eller snarare utgivningen av den, kan SARCASTIC vara nånting att hålla både ögon och öron på.

Strömstad välkomnar med ilsken deathrash.
Sarcastics "Past, Present…Forever" är en splittrad historia.
Inte i musikalisk bemärkelse, utan tidsmässigt. Tre av låtarna är inspelade i år, men skrevs 1993-96 (två av dem har också spelats in vid tidigare tillfälle, men med en annan line-up). Övriga två spår förevigades 1996 respektive 1997. Det första, "Over the Silvery Sea", sattes med Decameron-vokalisten/bassisten Alex Losbäck bakom spakarna och är ljudmässigt överlägset. Den något burkiga produktionen till trots är min favorit en av nyinspelningarna, medryckiga "Cursed", som för tankarna till Kreator runt "Extreme Aggression". Covern på Carnages dödsdänga "The Day Man Lost" är det inget fel på, men det är det egenhändigt komponerade materialet imponerar mest.

SARCASTIC hails from Strömstad / Sweden and are no new-beginners in the business called Metal. Everything began back in 1992 with the intention of playing Thrash Metal influenced by bands such as; METALLICA, SLAYER, KREATOR, SADUS, TESTAMENT, EXODUS, CORONER etc. The band recorded some Demos & featured on some Compilation CD..s, also a Mini-CD was ment to be released back in 1996, but this never happened and the band was laid to rest in 1997.
Now 4 years later SARCASTIC decided to re-record some of their old material as well for recording 1 new track, which resulted in the very subject for this review that I..m about to do.
As I..ve mentioned earlier in this review SARCASTIC deals with Thrash Metal, and that..s exactly what they deliver. 5 tracks of "Old-School Thrash" (3 new recordings along with 2 older recordings) in the vein of old KREATOR, EXODUS etc., but there is also a bit of Black/Death Metal feel in the tracks, which in no way makes things worse. In fact the last track on this CD is a cover version of one of the best Swedish Death Metal acts ever, CARNAGE. SARCASTIC has nothing really new to offer to the scene, (but keep in mind that most of the material is old stuff) but no matter this CD is my "cup of tea". I love Thrash Metal, both "Old-school" and the "New-school Retro" type. Sound & Production-wise the sounds make justice for just this type of music, it has the "crisp" and feel that Thrash Metal needs and is in no way over-produded, which sadly is the case with a lot of bands nowadays. Intense, raw, semi-melodic Thrash/Death Metal is what I would label this as, and wouldn..t mind at all to hear more from this band in the future, quite the contrary.

Sarcastic is not a new Swedish band but they haven't released any albums so far.
In the mid-90's they were one of several bands closely linked to Dissection as they came from the same town on the west coast of Sweden and their guitarist Mäbe even did some session work for Dissection.
The music of Sarcastic is a lot thrashier though and since the band started out playing covers from bands like Metallica, Slayer and Kreator it is not that strange.
The vocals are generally more brutal and black metal-ish than thrash metal vocals usually are. All of the tracks on this demo was written a while back (the band was formed in 1992 under the name Scavenger) but in March this year two of the old band members decided to reawaken the band and record these tracks once again.
The first four tracks are the band's own material while the final one is a Carnage cover.
Production-wise this cd is rather mediocre but for being a demo recording it is of high quality. Sarcastic is now alive again and what the future brings we will hopefully live to tell.
In September they did their first gig after the reunion together with Soul Reaper in Gothenburg which probably means that they will stick around for a while. Brutal thrash metal fans should check this band out.
Especially the first two tracks on this demo shows a great deal of potential.

The Swedish thrash-metallers SARCASTIC is back in business...and the business is good! The band was last active in 2004 but due to other commitments they where laid to rest ..til now (read the bio. below).
Featuring in their rank is returning guitarist Erik “Beast” Halvorsen (ex. SwordMaster, Deathstars) who are back after a long break from the band. He was last active back in 1997.
The band are now rehearsing their old material as well as composing some new devastating tunes.
There is no masterplan for this so just lets wait and see what is in store for SARCASTIC but the band are eager to play live and maybe some recordings will take place later on. Until then listen and download our old shit here!

Reactivated Swedish thrash metallers SARCASTIC did a hometown gig Friday 13th of February 2009!!This was SARCASTICs first gig in STRÖMSTAD since 1997!! Video footage of the performance can be viewed below.
Reactivated Swedish thrash metallers SARCASTIC returned to the live stage on December 20, 2008 when they supported SABATON as part of the Rockstad festival in Uddevalla, Sweden. This was SARCASTIC's first performance since 2004 and its first concert with returning guitarist Erik "Beast" Halvorsen (ex-SWORDMASTER, DEATHSTARS) in 11 years.

SARCASTIC was formed in Strömstad, Sweden back in ..92 by Erik - guitar (later Swordmaster and Deathstars) and Patrik -bass (later Hathor) - under the name Scavenger (but soon changed the name) as a result of there eager to play Metallica covers and thrash metal, and were joined by Mäbe -drums - who earlier had played session-guitar for Dissection and been drummer in Nosferatu(later among other things Twoface, a short session with Opthalamia- cowriter of the song The Final Hour Of Joy, backupsinger and eletronicsuperviser for Deathstars on their 2002 tour as well as cowriter of the song Cyanide and soloband M Ä B E). The threesome kept going and wrote music influenced by bands like Metallica, Slayer, Kreator, Sadus, Testament, Exodus, Coroner etc. as well as recorded a few demos and played some gigs mostly as a Metallica-coverband with a few different singers and guitarplayers.
In Dec. 1995 they asked Jörgen -vocals (later Auther Of Pain)- to join just the day before recording the song "Over the silvery sea" for a compilation-CD. Guitarplayer Matte Eliasson had also joined earlier on.
Since there were some problems in the studio (the tape recorder broke down) Sarcastic gained two more days in the studio later on that same year. Three more songs were recorded ("Awakening of my Dreams", "Shadows of a Distant Fire" and "The Fading Light of Christ") and these four songs were meant to be released as a mini-CD but this never happened. Matte left just before this session.
A few labels showed interest but this wasn't a good time for thrash bands, as everybody seemed to only care for black metal after the death metal boom in the early nineties.
Sarcastic kept rehearsing, recording some demos (none of them released due to bad sound quality) and played a few gigs until spring ..97 when they recorded the song "Secrets And Astral Creation" for another compilation-CD. To warm up and test the sound in the studio they recorded the classic Carnage song "The Day Man Lost", all done in the first take.
After this session none in the band were interested or motivated to keep on but they did one final gig and were then laid to rest?
In March 2001 Mäbe and Jörgen listened through some old tapes and decided to re-record some of them as well as finish an old song never before recorded or rehearsed. Two days later they were in a studio recording three tracks ("Fistful of Hate", 25 Cromwell Street" and "Cursed") together with drummer Kalle (later Mastema, Grief Of Emerald, Martin Missys Protector, M Ä B E) from Author of Pain as Mäbe now played the guitar (and bass in the studio). A demo with these songs was put together featuring two old previously recorded songs ("Over the silvery sea" from ..96 and "The Day Man Lost" from ..97) in Aug 2001.

After this session Sarcastic started to rehearse and Patrik rejoined the band (Erik had moved out of town to join Swordmaster now Deathstars so he wasn't available).
In September they did their first gig after the reunion together with Soul Reaper in Gothenburg (Club Inferno).
After another gig (in Ed) they decided to record two new songs ("1 8 7" and "Forever Fucked Up Chaos") written during the year. Two covers were also put on tape ("A Lesson in Violence" by Exodus and "Evil Dead" by Death). As with the last recording Mäbe handled the knobs in Studio 213 (Strömstad). This took place during the last week of October and beginning of November with a short break for a Halloween gig, again in Gothenburg and Club Inferno. These songs were recorded only to promote the band to record companies.
In 2004 yet another recording took place.This time i Studio Sonics with Jonas "Urna" Beijer. 5 intense song were recorded.

After this recording Sarcastic made a few successfull gigs but all the members where too busy with another commitments to keep Sarcastic going. So the beast where laid to rest yet another time...
Then in late summer of 2008 Jörgen, Mäbe, PK and Kalle met up for a first rehersal since 2004 and for the next rehersal Erik "Beast" Halvorsen (ex. SwordMaster, Deathstars) showed up for the first time since 1997! The three original and forming members PK, Erik and Mäbe are back together again! The first triumphant gig after the reunion took place in Uddevalla - with among others Sabaton and Vornth – 20th December 2008.
2009 started with a hometown gig – the first in 11 years! - together with fellow Strömstad-bands HATHOR and WHEN HOPE FALLS at SKAGERACK Friday 13th of Feb. And after that the band started to rehearse and write new songs
