Every member of Sardonicus brings something unique and valuable to the mix, and an overall list of influences would be a bit too all encompassing to provide the uninitiated with an adequate idea of the Sardonicus sound. A list of each individual members’ influences may provide a rough estimate:
* Jamie Steffen - DRUMS: Meshuggah, Six Feet Under, Sepultura, Obituary, Whitechapel, ABACABB, Kataklysm, Slipknot, Korn, Tool, Stone Sour, Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, COC, DRI, Assuck, Skinless, Anal Cunt, Slayer, Entombed, Dismembered, Acid Bath, Napalm Death, GUT, Red Hot Piggy's Pussy's and Nunwhore Commando for starters.
* Scott Kyle - GUITAR: Brujeria, Cannibal Corpse, Acid Bath, Entombed, Carcass, Dismember, hardcore stuff like Disrupt, Spazz, Anal Cunt and punk stuff like Minor Threat, Dead Kennedys and Poison Idea
* Scott Pearson - GUITAR: Slayer, Pantera, Black Label Society, Cannibal Corpse, Necrophagist, Cryptopsy, Lamb of God, Meshuggah, Arch Enemy, Morbid Angel, Mayhem, Emperor, Immortal, Dark Funeral, Darkthrone, Marduk, etc...

The sound of present day Sardonicus mocks any attempts at generic classification, not because its members wish to avoid concise summarization, nor because they lack any concrete direction as a musical unit. On the contrary, the sound of Sardonicus could be succinctly characterized as an eclectic blend of extreme metal stylings including, but not necessarily limited to the death, grind, black, thrash, doom, and tech varieties of extreme metal. With so many different stylistic influences, the recent sardonic song structure tends toward somewhat progressive, non-linear, perhaps even a bit schizophrenic arrangements, but remains focused on delivering varied and vicious metallic soundscapes.
It was very brutal. I would say it is Dethklok x 10. You guys are pretty polished. Vocals are a little hard to make out, but most are anymore. Keep rockin'.
