About me:

I'm a writer and producer currently working in film/television. I am the Sr. Writer/co-Creator of The Learning Channel (TLC) series "Dead Tenants," and have developed & produced original programming for MSNBC, ESPN, CNBC, Spike! TV, The Scifi Channel, A&E, The Hallmark Channel, Discovery Networks and TLC (The Learning Channel). My original television pilot The REAL Deal was recently awarded 1st Place in Scriptapalooza TV for Best Original Pilot. I'm the creator/exec producer of the scifi film "The NUKE Brothers" (featured selection, DragonCon the World's Largest Scifi & Fantasy Film Festival) and I'm currently involved (as writer/exec. producer) in the production of an upcoming scifi feature film "The Men In the Moon", and am focused on my latest novel, "The Apocalypse Will Be Televised: A Reality Television Tragedy."

I'm always looking to connect with others in my field(s), who share a love of storytelling and creating.

Latest News! 6-5-2009

--I am thrilled and ecstatic to report that the Shroud Publishing anthology Beneath the Surface, in which my piece "Thorguson" is the opening story, has been nominated for the prestigious 2009 Bram Stoker Award!!! I am truly humbled, honored and amazed to be included in such prestigious company for one of the most prestigious awards in literary genre fiction... to be in the running with the likes of Stephen King is beyond anything I'd imagined...!

--An excerpt from my short novel Hiram Grange and the Twelve Little Hitlers will appear in Issue #5 of Shroud Magazine. The novel itself will be available in Barnes & Nobles everywhere, and other booksellers late Summer/Fall 2009.

--Shooting has begun on my short "high-concept" horror film Zee Is For Zombie and we hope to have post-production complete in time for the 2010 Summer film festivals.

--My story Garage Days is scheduled to appear in the October, 2009 issue of Withersin Magazine.

--Amazon.com has selected my first novel "Champion Mountain" as one of the available selections for their new-fangled Kindle digital book reader. Check it out Here and check out the non-Kindle version here...!

--The folks at Quiet Earth did a nice little write-up on my current feature film project "The Men In the Moon," calling it "art in cinema" - Check It Out!

--I've recently finished development (writer/co-producer) on "The Mole People," a new television series for the A&E network - a documentary reality series about the strange societies of homeless cultures that dwell beneath the streets of New York City.

Scott C. Carr
E! Online
recently hailed Scott Christian Carr’s work, saying “True genius abounds here—Chris Carter, take heed!” Scott is the Writer and Associate Producer of Dead Tenants, a paranormal reality television series currently airing on TLC (The Learning Channel). He has written for Sony Entertainment and developed Closer Encounters, a paranormal-themed multimedia news and fiction department for Artisan Films’ Distant Corners Entertainment Group.

Carr’s work has been favorably reviewed in both MovieLine and Heavy Metal: The Adult Illustrated Fantasy Magazine, and in 1999, for his para-sociological news journal The Flying Saucer Gazette he was awarded The Hunter S. He is the creator and writer of The Continuing Adventures of Fat Man and Little Boy which is published by Plastic Farm Press and is currently available in comic book stores everywhere.

Scott is currently shoulder deep in production on his post-apocalyptic feature film "The Men In the Moon" (a "spiritual sequel" to the critically acclaimed "The NUKE Brothers".) He's also hard at work producing/shooting his film documentary, Junkyard Living, and putting the finishing touches on his latest novel, The Apocalypse Will Be Televised: A Reality Television Tragedy.

Who I'd like to meet:
Anyone interested in the craft and the business of writing. Other professionals in the film/TV industry.

As for celebrities? I would love the chance to meet Edie Brickell, Brad Roberts, Roger Waters, and Bob Dylan, if only to shake their hands, thank them for their work, and tell them how much they've inspired me...

Ever heard a single violinist sound like 12?

Recently, I added a new song to my music player called, "Always" which might be one of the best songs I've written so far. Tthe chorus was scored for an entire violin section, however, in studio, I had one violinist, Jan "Yes I Can" Sullins. I asked her to single handedly create the sound of a "Hollywood style" string section. This is almost like telling someone, "Please jump rope one handed 10 times while monkeys nip at your feet."

Lucky for me, Jan worked some magic and now you can hear it on track 1 in my music player. It's called "Always" and is from my upcoming album, "Awakening," to be released June 16th.

Thanks and have fun!
