DANIELLE is the banjo picker that adds to the drive behind the SFB sound. Her favorite banjo picker is Jason Davis of Grasstowne and she gives credit to Roy Taylor for getting her started. . . . . . JOSHUA is their mandolin player extraordinaire who keeps their creative juices flowing. With impeccable timing and a intuitive style that is clearly Joshua's own, he adds the flair that keeps the SFB sound unique. . . . . . LEE is their guitar player with solid rhythm playing reminiscent of Jimmy Martin and a lead guitar picker that will surprise you everytime he lifts his guitar to the mic. He does most of the lead singing for SFB with a rich, warm voice that leaves you thinking of Allen Mills of Lost and Found. . . . . . MELINDA is the resonator guitar player whose stylings are that of Uncle Josh Graves. She loves to throw in a blues lick as much a little swing style. Willing to try JUST about anything, she insists that all of the band's material is purely acoustic and nothing that would have Grandma wash your mouth out with soap. . . . . . ROBBIE is the bass player of the band and the backbone of the family. His precision timing and clean bass walking keeps the band on the straight, but not so narrow, path. The musical journey that SFB has chosen isn't always clearly traditional bluegrass. But with Robbie at the helm, they won't drift too far off course.

Sounds Like
a cool breeze through an open field of rye grass across the creek from a Saturday night pig pickin'. . . . . peaceful and welcoming with undertones of a feverish raucous about to cut loose.
A five piece bluegrass band just breaking into the scene, SFB is exciting crowds all over Virginia and North Carolina with their impressive picking. Their ages and influences run the gamut from thirteen to forty-one and from Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver to New Grass Revival.
