About me: Sarysma (pronounced sar-is-ma) enchants audiences with her Americanized Egyptian-style cabaret bellydance. A natural performer, Sarysma adapts to a variety of venues. Each unique performance displays the richness of Middle Eastern dance by including traditional props such as zills (finger cymbals) and veils.
Sarysma performs professionally in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. She is a regularly seen at a number of restaurants in the Philadelphia area, including Casablanca in New Castle, Delaware and Cous Cous in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. You may also find her performing at events with the Philadelphia-based dance troupes "The Shake Charmers"
and the "Azhia Movement Project".
Sarysma's dance background includes ballet, jazz, and tap. She has been bellydancing for over five years and has studied with the best Raqs Sharqi teachers in the tri-state area, including Azhia and Valerie Rushmere of Philadelphia, and Almaaza of Wilmington, Delaware. Sarysma also pursues advanced training through workshops with internationally
famed dancers such as Tito (of Egypt) Seif, Sahra Seeda, Jim Boz, Angelika Nemeth, Aneena, Artemis and Fahtiem.

I was just watching tabloid tv and they are thinking about a prequel to called The Carrie Diaries and are already looking for young actor to play all girls part. Miley Cyris is up for SJP! Not so sure how this will be?????? Want a sequel to the movie. Maybe 5 years later.
Crazy as ever! Quarter end here and lots of OT! UGH! Glad to hear your still dancing. I totally understand. I spend 12 hrs a day here most days and weekends something is always going on with one of the kids or grandkids.
Next Sunday is the Drum Circle at Lewes. Afterwards we are meeting at Irish Eyes Resturant down the street. We are hoping that they will let us meet there in the colder months. Maybe making it into a mini halfla where dancers can strut thier stuff. Wish us luck.

Last March Damali put on a production of Scherezade at the Milton theatre. We had alot of guess dancers from New Jersey and one dancer drove two hours from Maryland to participate. Next year we are going to put on another production based on the story of Ruth. But this time since it is going to be more strongly story based, Nefertiti wants local dancers. She is going to be holding auditions sometime after her trip to Eygpt. You should consider trying out. It would be alot of hard work since basically you would be a character in a play. But I feel it is an important step for the bellydance comunity in this Delaware area, to get a appreciation for our artform locally.
I believe Nefertiti is allready planning next years show at the Milton theatre. You should contact her so you have a spot. It is important for local dancers to support each other. .. ..MySpace Icons..
