Heroes
I am inspired by everyday heroes. People who silently go about their lives doing the next right thing, putting one foot in front of the other, despite any hardships or disabilities they may have. Their praises sung only by their family and their reward,just knowing that they helped to shape lives and lighten burdens.
My Dad was my hero. No, he wasn't perfect,he had a lot of flaws. But he never gave up. He never walked away when that would have been the easiest thing to do. He instilled in all 8 of his children a love for music and a passion for knowledge. Though he was far from perfect he still insisted that we conduct ourselves with honesty and integrity.

My family, Art, Literature,Painting, remodeling(reluctantly), I love living by and walking near the water. I love the smell of the ocean. I find it very hard to live away from one coast or another. When I lived in the desert although it was beautiful, I longed to hear the waves, feel the salty spray on my skin, and the sound of the gulls as they circle above. I'm a Gemini, a sign I share with Benny Goodman,Paul McCartney and JFK. Restless, though not inconsolable, curious,multi-faceted and conflicted(in a good way).I love both the noise and excitement of the city, and the serenity and peacefulness of the country. I couldn't live without either. Dressing up for a night at the theater, sashaying in my silk and heels down 42nd, or sneakers and jeans riding shot-gun in a CJ7. I love long bike rides, exploring in depth new places, albondigas, chocolate pudding, recao, roast leg of lamb for Easter, NPR And Music!!!

I hate prejudice and narrow mindedness. I despise that human beings can spend their time arguing and fighting about their beliefs, skin color, country of origin and economic status while the life we've been given slips silently away. I admire people who stand for something good in this world and who want to leave it a better place for everyone.Together we stand,divided we fall. There are those that would have us look at our differences and ignore our similarities, it serves their purpose to divide us, distract us.

Catholic grammar schools in NYC.(5),(lots of ear pulling and knuckle rapping) Private H.S. NYC and Florida (3 different ones)... O.K we moved a lot!LOL. I went to college at 25 when I found myself alone with 3 children.I continue to educate myself in all areas.

I love the waterfront, kayaking, Cozy coffee shops, Central Park, The Village, Monterey, S.F, that great bike path between Monterey and Pebble Beach, the desert, great seafood restaurant or my kitchen, Palm Beach,Jupiter Inlet and oh so many other places,even the desert for brief periods.

On June 8, 1967, a date which will live in infamy, a United States ship, the USS Liberty, was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the State of Israel. Thirty-four American sailors died and 174 were wounded. There was no retaliation, no honest investigation, and no assistance from American forces. Israel got away with cold blooded murder.
On September 11, 2001, planes struck the two WTC towers, and shortly thereafter both towers fell. But did you know that a third large building also collapsed on September 11 at 5:20 in the afternoon and that this building, WTC 7, wasn't even hit by a plane? September and October are my favorite months. I like how the fall air smells and how the October light looks like gold. I like going to Wisconsin every fall to get a bushel of Empire apples. While I'm there, I like to buy Wisconsin cheese curds and dark beer. Yep! I like fall. :-)
