Based in the Boston/Salem area, Sassure has been pushing a world/pop/rap/rock/tropical/Latin/acoustic synthesis in his last two CDs: ARCHIPELAGOS and STAGE ONE SOUTH. "You could say my subject is 'shamanic' love," he says, "but that would take a bit of explanation. The current release, THE CINNAMON WORLD VIEW, further universalizes Latin and tropical rhythms to the point where a whole new genre is created.....which is a break from the blues-based contemporary pop/rock that has dominated the popular music scene since the 1950s.....let's call this new genre Shamanic Rock....

Sassure reveals little of himself biographically. "I'm a traveler, a seeker, a writer, a musician," he says. "Does anything else matter?"
