Yannie is soulful enough for R&B audiences, but smooth enough for adult contemporary; sophisticated enough for adults, but sultry enough for younger listeners; strong enough in the face of heartbreak to appeal to women, but ravishing and sexy enough to nab the fellas. She is the perfect combination of beauty, attitude, and sheer talent. She is no doubt going to be one of this decade’s most vibrant, exciting, soul deep, straight from the heart young artists. As a child Yannie took acting and singing lessons, eventually performing in a number of local choirs and theatrical presentations. She was a star in her Award Winning High School Choir led by Mrs Joyce Garrett. She soon earned a reputation of being a vocal powerhouse. She then joined her high school friends in the GoGo Band Lissen and together than ran the city. Over the years she has struggled with her gift walking the line between secular and gospel music. She has sung backup for Raheem Devaughn,Chrisette Michelle, Marsha Ambrose and Ledsi. She was a member of several gospel groups and recently sang backup for a BET Jazz Showcase. After much pondering Yannie decided to take her gift where ever God leads her. She has been constantly writing and developing herself as an artist. Her producers are the best is the business. The Treo at Kollective; Warren Jones, Levi Stephens and Issac Lewis are the most talented producers on the East Coast. A mother of two boys and woman looking for love, Yannie is every one of us. She gives the men an insight into what women are feeling and why. She gives the ladies advice on what not to do in love. Her music has been labeled by many as therapy for the mind, body and soul.
