My dad is my hero. He was diagnosed with brain cancer in the summer of '02. He was only given a couple months to live. We tried everything we could to stop the cancer from spreading. Including two brain surgeries, chemotherapy, and more. After all the money, time, and energy was put into it, nothing had worked. He finally passed on June 20th, '03. He survived for 16 months. With the type of cancer he had, only a small percentage of people make it to 16 months. He is my hero, because he was strong enough to go through treatment over and over again, strong enough to go in and out of nursing homes, strong enough to face failure, strong enough to watch himself lose the battle every day, strong enough not to give up, and strong enough to finally give up. I can't even begin to imagine the pain and suffering he went through.
