Satchel Blue are a five piece band consisting of Rob Hayes (vocals/guitar), James Thornett (vocals/guitar), Ian Myatt (Keyboards), Andy Dudley (Bass), Mark Golland (Drums).
The songwriting of Hayes/Thornett has been influenced by a diverse mixture of artists, from the 60s sounds of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, through the 80/90s pop of The Housemartins and The Proclaimers, to the more contemporary sounds of bands such as the Barenaked Ladies.
Originally a songwriting duo formed in 1999, the present line-up began to take shape while recording 2003’s Too Much Television with the addition of Mark Golland on drums. Andy Dudley (bass) and Ian Myatt (keyboards) joined soon after the release of the 2003 album and the current sound was born.
