   About Satellite Dogs
"The more I see of men the more I like dogs." --Madame de Stael 1766-1817 French social leader.

"Satellite Dogs play cut-the-crap emotion gurgling from great big slimy rock 'n' roll. There's rasp in the voice, tremolo, and slide guitar enough to fix the rock 'n' roll addict, and truth that can be felt better than ciphered." - Billy's Bunker

"a country indie rock sound to them with a little bluegrass twang" -Long Beach Underground

"The Satellite Dogs play a brand of folk punk, Green on Red style alt rock." - Mike Martt

Satellite Dogs based out of the South Bay/Los Angeles area. With eclectic tunes stemming from folk, punk, alt .country, psychedelic rock, coming from both singer/songwriters Mike Salas & Mike DeBe, always melodic but never sounding like just one of these genres. The just released CD titled "Showdown at Big Dalton" is a result of exactly that, a showdown between the band and Big Dalton studio owner/producer Mike Halby (Hound Dog/David Hidalgo, Canned Heat, John Mayall's Blues Breakers) and engineer Ken Raines (sessions with Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett) which left all parties laying in the dust, waking up wondering what happened....the result - A great F$cking Record! Recorded mostly live in the studio, no Pro Tools and nare any effects in just a few days. Yeah, these guys taught us the old school way of recording the band live all in one room using old tube amps and vintage mics going direct to 2" tape through real plate reverb and an old Amek/Neve board. Mastered by Evren Göknar (Iggy Pop, Grand Funk Railroad, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Duran Duran, Throwing Muses) at Capitol Studios. Several songs from the album have been chosen for the indie film soundtrack "The Waiters"

Satellite Dogs, Please note the new RecordScout.com website is live! We have so many new
features all aimed at unsigned, and signed bands looking for valuable exposure.
Previously it was just a directory for unsigned bands but our new launch
includes MP3 and Video exposure as well as photo galleries. Encourage your fans

Guitarslingers True West will headline the first-ever Portland edition of International Pop Overthrow on Saturday, 8/23 (http://www. internationalpopoverthrow. com/Schedule-Portland-2008. htm).

Riding out of the west coast neo-psychedelic Paisley Underground in the '80s, True West went on to record three albums and be part of what the UK press dubbed "The American Invasion" in 1985, returning to tour the States with REM later that year.

Last year, Atavistic/Touch And Go Records released Hollywood Holiday Revisited, a CD collection of True West's first two albums Hollywood Holiday and Drifters, along with three extra tracks produced by Tom Verlaine of Television in 1983.

Friends of the Perros - see the talents of Mike Salas as he joins the party on stage. If you're in the Claremont area. Hell, even if you're not - come on by and check it out.
