.. .. .. .. .. .. Satellite Maps began orbiting the Montreal scene in January of 2008. The band is comprised of members who have long been active in Montreal groups such as slow core post-rock merchants Quinimine and dub-step luminaries Hardsteppers, as well as being live guest performers with the likes of DIY-loop queen tUnEyArDs. From a cramped bunker in Mile-End, the disparate influences of all five members began to take shape into a finely distilled amalgam of fractured blips and beeps mixed with the flesh, blood and bone of acoustic instruments, singin’ and strummin’. Within the balance of electronics and live instrumentation, lie the naïve melodies that attempt to soundtrack the human condition. ..
