Aloha! I started my music career on the organ when I was three years old in Japan. Since then, I've played many instruments, such as piano, drums and percussion, guitar, bass, saxophone, etc. I also really liked listening to jazz and trying to play jazz as a child. When I was 12, I started arranging tunes. I moved to Hawaii in 1999 and started to study and learn jazz seriously in 2004. I have been playing a lot in the city of Honolulu since 2007 regularly with my trio on Friday at the Shigezo, quartet and quintet on Saturday at the Dragon Upstairs and my duo on Sunday at the Chuck's Cellar.
I have just started a quintet band, Bop Tribal with top local musicians playing bebop, hard bop, and our original tunes. We play 1 - 2 times/month on Saturday at the Dragon upstairs.
"Moondance', "Hibiscus Blue" and "Honeycreeper" are my original composition.
Performed by Satomi Yarimizo(piano), Reggie Padilla(tenor sax), von Baron(drums) and Troy Millard(bass)
