It is said that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Real talk. The eyes let us know what we need to know about a person with a glance. Music is the language of the soul. A song, a beat or a lyric tells us what an artist is all about, and paints an audio picture for our soul to interpret we may have been previously unaware of One look into the eyes of Toronto-based emcee, songwriter, producer and Hip Hop artist Satori Son and you’ll know he’s in tune with soul’s language and fluent in the ability to express the vibes through Hip Hop music.
Coming up in Northern Ontario, music always held a pivotal role in Satori Son’s life. Raised by musically and artistically inclined parents, Satori Son began to shape his own style of conscious, lyrically vivid Hip Hop as a teen. Going through hardships and life lessons, Satori Son found Hip Hop as a vessel for his creative visions and ideas while struggling with frustrating and at times painful moments in his own life. Discovering a talent for creating his own beats influenced by jazz, rock, and classic Hip Hop and R&B to serve as a canvas for his socially and politically conscious style of rhyme, Satori Son’s production prowess garnered the attention of emcees like Absent Minded and designers of the urban clothing label Solid Apparel. Satori Son used his skills and relationships to network and lay down the foundation for a diverse collaborative effort called Rusty Nation. The group shared a common goal of blending organic sounds with Hip Hop lyrics and production, but ultimately disbanded. Satori Son pressed on, however, with his belief in the songs the group had recorded, and released a full-length solo LP “Elements Within” worldwide in October 2008.
Satori Son worked with a wide range of musicians and producers for the soulful including Adam King, guitarists Jason Horsefield and Jonathan Insley, R&B artist Lara Martin, Ascendica and DJ Clever Hans, and Absent Minded. Satori Son’s strong lyrics and vibrant beats introduced him to upcoming Hip Hop artist Presyse and the friendship and chemistry present through the making of “Elements Within” resonates to this day.
Satori Son’s grit and determination find him still in the lab, concocting potent Hip Hop formulas for new projects in his own studio environment. Sticking to the fundamentals of conscious lyrics and smooth production, be on the lookout for the follow up “Elements Unleashed” EP in 2010, presented by Satori Son & Presyse on Human Drift Music, and Getcha Hands Up!

What's Good, Big Homie? Thanks for the friendship, the support, and the chance to turn a daydream into a way of life. You're one of the raddest dudes I've ever met, and one hell of a Hip Hop artist. Let's live it to limit and uplift The Movement. Only one thing, though, son... Never Give Up.
