For over 20 years, guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani has amazed and entertained the masses with his unique mastery of the electric guitar.
Surfing with the Alien was the album that ignited Joe Satriani's career as a solo performer. The acclaimed guitarist's second full-length release, Surfing with the Alien, was originally issued in October 1987 on Relativity Records. It became a left-field bestseller that reached No. 29 on the Billboard Top 200 and was certified Platinum for US sales of over one million copies. It was the first rock guitar instrumental album to reach Billboard's Top 200 Album Chart. It includes the charting hits "Satch Boogie" and "Surfing With The Alien", plus the Grammy-nominated "Always With Me, Always With You".
SWAA is the solo project of Guitarist Gary Lesley
Coming from the Shredder Streets of Los Angeles, he cut his chops during the era of great guitarist like Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Eric Johnson, Yngwie Malmsteen, George Lynch, Eddie Van Halen, and Gary Hoey, just to name a few.
Being an admirer of all of the above, their music was always an influence and contributed to the sound of Gary's all instrumental act that blazed the Stages of LA.
But one guitarist always seem to have a large influence on his sound and playing more than others, and that was Joe Satriani....
Not only because his playing ability, but the complex structure of his music and his ability to make it sound rather simple was a gift not many have...
Gary finally felt his playing had matured to the level to pay tribute to one of the Worlds greatest Guitarist MR. Joe Satriani

IN APRIL OF 2007 GARY'S DREAM FINALLY CAME TRUE AND HE TOOK THE LIVE ACT HE PUT TOGETHER TO A CROWD OF GUITAR FANS OPENING FOR THE ATOMIC PUNKS....
MANY SAID HE WAS CRAZY TO EVEN ATTEMPT PULLING OF A TRIBUTE TO SOMEONE LIKE JOE SATRIANI......SWAA QUICKLY PUT ALL THE QUESTIONS TO REST AND SIMPLY BLAZED THE STAGE AND HAD A SURPRISED CROWD ON THEIR FEET.....
GARY BLAZED LA FOR THE REST OF 2007 AND ESTABLISHED A FOLLOWING IN A VERY SHORT TIME.....

If you can't make this show, you can still mark your calendar for Thursday, June 26, at 11pm at The Derby. That'll be $8 with the 2nd flyer below (or message us to get on our limited $5 guest list). Nate’s 25th birthday is the day before (June 25), so come out to celebrate and get wasted with him and the Outlaws!
Looks like i caught a little bit of luck my friend. Our singer we just hired lives pretty far north of SD, but commutes to SD to see his girlfriend. We are trying to get gigs lined up for during the summer and i, personally, will try to make it to a show. I will have to do a little background check seeing and us "under 21-year-olds" aren't given the red carpet treatment hah! LOVE ICE 9. Sounds grand and the intro flows well. I see those pictures from the clinic are up and they look great. Happy to see you booking shows and will coming to one soon. Best of luck!
Thanks for stopping by! We will let you know when we play in your area. Always like to meet our myspace friends in person!! We'll have new music on our site soon. Keep stopping by and leaving comments. Your support is what keeps us going! Peace BLACK RAIN
JSX huh? Well i might be the first to say, what a great investment! It's a beautiful amp and does the "Satch" job well. There are a few used ones rolling around craigslist around the San Diego/LA area (just an FYI). I know you will sound ten times better with it :).
P.S. There are setting for Joe's amp on his website. Under the forums there is a FAQ page. Search for "Settings" or "amp settings" by holding ctrl + the "F" key.
Everything seems to be going fine on your side of Cali my friend. Good to hear those demos, i like them a lot. Nailed the tone on Circles might i say. Keep up the good work!!
