About me:
Saturday Shorts is the name of a group of us who make movies. We got the name Saturday Shorts because we used to make short films every Saturday night. Now, we're in post-production on a feature film with the Saturday Shorts crew.
Most of us are industry professionals as well:
Elias and Bryan: Pro-Screenwriters & Directors, they've written 18 screenplays between them and have co-directed 3 feature films and countless short films. They were two of the three instrumental people on the award winning film This Divided State. They also have screenplays at the top two talent agencies in the world.
Joel: Joel has been a professional editor for 5 years. He's cut feature films, commercials, music videos and short films... and his fingers on everything that's sharp... the clumsy fool... he also dabbles in writing and the dark arts... (art with a sharpie, not witchcraft)
Derek: Derek writes (with a small amount of help from Bryan and Elias) the comic book "Pirate Club" which comes out quarterly from Slave Labor Graphics. He also has been doing production design for Disney.
Warren: Warren is currently shooting professional skate videos for Reliance Skateboards.
Richard Newman: Is working as a professional FX make-up artist and film producer.
Jason: Has starred in and produced one feature and countless short films.
Who I'd like to meet: Filmmakers, producers, etc. We're ALWAYS looking for people in our area to come help out on projects and short films.

This footage will be compiled into the Earth Day Film Project. The script is finished but requires your participation.
We will finish the project after all submissions have been reviewed. Submission deadline is April 15th. This project is not for profit. Not only is this a way to have your original ideas seen, but to also celebrate our planet. Project will be released onto Youtube April 22nd...Earth Day. Please include the name of your film company and the names of all the participants in your clip for ending credits.

DEAR FILMMAKERS completing a BRILLIANT SHORT FILM! The Utah Arts Festival is one of the largest, most culturally rich artistic showcases in the western United States. The works celebrated at the festival stretch well beyond the borders of Utah, exposing over 80,000 festival-goers to a diverse collection of contemporary yet traditional, challenging yet accessible, thought provoking yet fun range of works over four frenetic days every June. The Fear No Film Festival aims to celebrate a similar range of artistic excellence. Last June, Fear No Film presented 63 diverse short films grouped according to the emotion it was likely to elicit from the audience. Screenings included "Movies that will make me feel HAPPY," "Movies that will make me feel UNSETTLED," and "Movies that will make me feel SUBCULTURED."
Keep in mind this is Utah. We here in Utah have been attending and participating in outstanding film festivals long before "independent" meant Aston Kutcher and Paris Hilton. Audiences are appreciative and extremely well versed in the very, very best the world of independent cinema has to offer.
Guess what?! The short film that I did with Channing Lowe and Aaron Peterson, The Invasion, made the finals for the Film Racing Grand Prix for the year 2007! We had 100 hours to write, shoot and edit. Our topic was "The Future" and our required element was "washing dishes". I like how it turned out. It's now up to the viewers, however, to choose the overall winner.
Would you be so kind as to take a minute to vote for me?
My movie is in the middle of the bottom row if you want to actually watch it. :-) If you have a few extra minutes to kill, watch some of the other movies. There are some good films there. If not, just choose my film from the drop down list.
Hi, I thought you might be interested in hearing my filmic new Asylum EP. It has just been released on Filter and they are also running a remix contest to support it.
