"Michigan’s Satyrasis have something sorely lacking in today’s thrash landscape–their sound doesn’t fit into a discrete category ready-made for marketing to consumers of the thrash revival.....Instead, Satyrasis have a personality of their own, and it’s well-expressed on Creation of Failure, a solid offering of thrash flavored with death and fleeting tastes of speed and hardcore." ― Matt Mooring, Metal Review
"Combining elements of old school Death Metal (from the likes of OBITUARY and such) with a distinctive Thrash mentality, “Creation Of Failure” rips out some of those riffs and solos that many of us forgot even existed in this modern Metal world.....With their use of catchy monster riffs (that include the melodies so that the guitar players can play off one another) and their stunning drum work – it’s no surprise that much of this album is not filler. The technicality of the song writing and instrument work is impressive to say the least." ― Matt Reifschneider, The Metal Observer
"Satyrasis had it right for the most part when they crafted this brilliant piece of metal. From start to finish, these guys pump out the heavy thrash with extreme prejudice! The constant onslaught of punishing licks and godly solos (think Running Wild meets Dew-Scented) are almost too much for this reviewer to handle! All the pieces of this band play flawlessly off one another to the point of universal collapse due to the sheer density of metal masterfulness!" ― Chase Smith, E-Metal Reviews
"A new American thrash metal band is on the rise. Satyrasis hails from Michigan and is ready with their debut full length "Creation Of Failure", 8 tracks of dark atmospheric thrash metal, unsuitable for weak souls......" ― Anders Jørgensen, Nocturnal Horde Webzine (Denmark)
"Some bone crushing thrash metal
is the ticket here. Big, meaty riffs mixed in with speed and power is what
you get on this disc. The riffs will have your neck moving and the singer has a
great thrash metal voice to boot. The production is not over polished and I
love the guitar sound the band use on this. 8 crushing tunes of some of best
thrash metal I have heard in quite a bit. Prepare your neck for a workout.
Awesome release." ― Chris Forbes, MetalCore Fanzine
"Carcass’ Heartwork springs to mind as an absolute influence throughout the album, with tastefully and well placed melodic riffage complimenting Thrashy refrains and breakdowns. It seems these dudes never come up for a breath, as the songs transition frequently into mind bending solos and high velocity, stop on a dime Thrash; The instrumental Mastery would be an apt reference point for sake of a recent comparison, however, the Cynic demos are certainly a big part of the playbook as well." ― Jean-Pierre Abboud, Morbid Knocking
"This Michigan-based band is one of those rare breed of bands, that can not only use what they have learned from their influences... they use it and build something that the whole world should take note of. They may not be perfect in the eyes of most metalheads, but they are fast getting the ability to be just that." ― JD, MetalBite
Formed in 2001 by Peterman and Trzcinski out of the ashes of
their respective woodsheds. Drawing equally from Metallica's
infrastructure, Carnivore's Aggression, and Death's
Technicality, they began to write music and refine their
sound. Lofty aspirations quickly begat jading cynicism as
the duo struggled to find quality musicians. In 2006, After
sifting though possibly every semi-talented drummer in
Southeastern Michigan, the guys recruited drumming
wunderkind and professional question asker, Dimitri
Mitropoulos. Soon enlisting the metal-ly disaffected Bass
genius of Alan Budlong (Half Dog Jury, Cursed Eternity,
Vortex of Malice) they retreated into the studio to record
their debut album.
Released on February 1st, 2008,
containing 8 tracks of the best they had come up with at the
time, Creation of Failure, is a brutally speed
crazed sonic expression of the inferno that engulfs the 21st
century man. A record that smashes with brute force, seethes
with organic atmosphere, and cuts with razor-sharp
speed.Promoting relentlessly throughout Michigan from the
record's release into 2009, they then set their sights on
the behemoth that is the open road.
In May 2009, the men embarked on their first national tour.
Spanning 26 days in 15 states and covering over 6,000 miles
of terrain. The Peterman Re-Reality Tour 2009, as it
was dubbed, was an acretive and eye opening journey for the
band, both personally and professionally. Doing their best
to gain the respect of a new city each night had its
drawbacks. The band returned shell shocked and weary, and
decided that the current state of logistical strategies could
not remain. This led to the eventual and unfortunate ousting
of Dimitri Mitropoulos from the drum throne.
With Dimitri out, the band promoted their ever vigilant
understudy, Jake Bryan (Prevalent Dreams, Churchhill Downs, Year200x) to Percussioneer in Chief, moved to Lansing's beautiful South Side and quickly headed back out on the road with their favorite doom/psych provocateurs Cavalcade finding mischief, mayhem and friends at Jeffery's on The Bad Idea Tour 2009
Upon their return, the Satyradudes retreated from the front to work on their sophmore record, slated for release in Spring 2010.
My new 3 album box set ODESSA delves into the disgusting involvement the United States government had in hiding Nazi war criminals that were deemed, "intelligence assets", to be used against the Russians. ODESSA also examines the enthusiastic role the Franciscan Order, Argentinian and Chilean Governments, and Arab leaders who hated the Jews played in hiding and finding new homes for former fascists. It seems many nations had a reason to keep these monsters from being captured, and this is my attempt to expose the establishment of a Fourth Reich in South America that still exists to this day. I have decided to dedicate the majority of my time to recording and selling albums. Currently I am on a Cassette kick, and everything that I am self releasing, or releasing on the label I own and operate (Kapustin Yar Records) is now on Tape. Prices will remain as low as possible on said products, because Tapes are for die hard collectors or Cassette enthusiasts only these days. The majority of albums I release on other labels, which is a larger and larger number month by month, are still being released on CD. That being said, I have recently recorded for The Persona Series (albums for individuals, named after their purchaser, with the owner retaining all rights and receiving 2 mini posters for $10 postage paid), which has been very successful. I have recorded a 90 minute Cassette, High Above The Horizon, which is available for $4 postage paid, and The Blood Album Part 2 for $4 postage paid. Please help me to continue pumping out these and other albums by ordering these crazy Tapes today!!!
