Sounds Like
Add equal parts Beatles, Beach Boys, Todd Rundgren, The Who, The Kinks, Elvis Costello, XTC, plus a couple dashes of pure originality and blend it all together. There, you have the sound of Saul Glennon!
Since 1994, the "Glennons" have provided the universe well-crafted offbeat pop tunes influenced by the likes of The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Who, Elvis Costello, XTC, with a touch of Burt Bacharach and Todd Rundgren thrown in for good measure. The Band is lead by Singer/Songwriter/Multi-instrumentalist Jack Rugan. Jack has been soaking up classic pop chord structures since his mom purchased the Beatles "Paperback writer" single in 1966 when he was only 3 years old. Rounding out the lineup is lifelong member Adam Zieleniewski on guitar/vocals; Joe Rivera, the charasmatic bass player; Jerry Rugan on vocals/guitar, and Andy Ullman on drums and vocals. 7 critically acclaimed album releases in 13 years and the band has no intentions of stopping anytime soon. Their latest release, "Triology 1: How can you call that music?", is part one in a planned 3-disc project providing fresh takes on music that Jack wrote over the past 25 years but was never heard commercially. "Triology 2: The happiest guy in the world" is now available through the band's Cafe Press site and is being offered for free download this entire week!
