| General | I like bar food. Someone needs to open an organic food and drink oriented bar around here. Nothing would please me more than to sit on a stool at a nice old bar and eat an organic turkey burger on an organic spelt bun with organic lettuce and sprouts and organic fried onions along with organic french fries cooked in a fine organic oil while drinking an organic microbrew lager. I bet someone could make a go of this in Minneapolis - some of the current crop of bars seem to get it. Intelligent Nutrients, Horst Rechelbacher's restaurant experiment, comes close, but doesn't have french fries. Elsie's on Marshall in NE Minneapolis isn't bad though. Reminds me of the bars I learned to drink in growing up in Pittsburgh. This isn't just the "new Seattle" up here, this huge, bizarre, isolated metropolis on the godforsaken windswept prairies is one of the world's major centers of magical intellectual and artist convergence. And they claim another million people are moving here in the next decade.
I also like muscle cars. I used to drive a black '70 Chevelle with a 350 4-barrel, a trick cam, and headers. | | Music | Everything, I listen to everything. Really Loud. Maybe I've gone deaf and just keep getting bigger amps to compensate? Uh-oh. | | Television | We only watch Netflix. | | Books | I try to read all the short stories in Fantasy & Science Fiction every year. Novels tend to get set down by the side of the bed with a bookmark about 30 pages in these days. Periodically I clean up the pile and put it back on the shelves. Need to build more shelves. Old National Geographics rock, especially the ones I've collected from 1910-1930 or so. But I guess they aren't books, huh... | | Heroes | Han Solo yelling yee haw as the Millenium Falcon appears behind Luke in the trench. |
