Lose the sparklers, save the apple pie and come watch an all-American
brawl even Uncle Sam would tip his hat to on Saturday, May 17.
In honor of Armed Forces Day, skaters with the Savannah Derby Devils
women's roller derby league will face off against the Columbia
QuadSquad Rollergirls of Columbia, S.C., in "Militant Mayhem."
The second home bout of the season will take place at the Savannah
National Guard Armory on 1248 Eisenhower Drive. Doors open at 6 p.m.;
bout starts at 7 p.m.
Last month, the Devils lost their Savannah season opener to the
Charlotte RollerGirls, 86-84, in a 2-minute overtime jam, so come show
your support for the home team as they battle for a win and salute
America's armed forces derby style: red, white and bruise.
The event will feature live entertainment from local band, Three-hole
Punch, and Boomer of 106.1 FM will serve as guest emcee. The right to
enjoy absurd, highly spirited contests also will be exercised by the
crowd during intermission.
Get $10 pre-sale tickets from your favorite derby girl, online at
www.brownpapertickets.com or by calling 800-838-3006. Tickets are $12
at the door, but those with a military ID get a $2 discount. Children
age 8 and younger get in free.
"Suicide seating" is available near the track, but be prepared to be
bowled over by hot girls on fast wheels. Close encounters of the
fishnet kind are for semi-mature audiences only, so no one younger
than 18 may sit on the front row. Those seeking more comfortable
seating may bring chairs to set at a distance or take advantage of
limited bleacher seating.
As always, everyone's encouraged to follow the rollergirls to the
afterparty at The Rail Pub on 405 W. Congress for drinks, dancing and
good times.

Hello Derby Devil Niced Ladies, some damneded bastards leave metal manhole covers cover off street, Moehammar hit with cab while listening to Luciano Pavottis, smach off tires and slids in fruits truck...okay..you needs 50 pounds of bananasese..Yes?
Please help us as we get started to keep our awesome practice space! As we grow and gain members, we need just a little push to get us through the first couple of months.
If you can help at all, every dollar is appreciated!
The rumors are true about the undercover operation that aided your recent victory. The use of stealth technology enabled me to sneak into Jacksonville unnoticed. By employing a top-secret pickup line, I was able to neutralize the opposition by applying using my specialized stress-relief skills. No sacrifice is too great for the Savannah Derby Devils.
I cheers loudest of all, it me Moehammar, #1 Fan,..also Taxi cab very cheap for any Devil Girl across town,...as long as she not summon Hamriamam of Desert Djinni,..him no tip good,..okay,..thank you...
I had a great time watching you against Jacksonville on Sunday night. It was my first time at a derby bout, and it was awesome. KRZY8, you were astonishing.
great seeing you ladies this past week. you're looking great! till we meet again! (and maybe someday we'll get to bout against each other!!! now wouldn't that be fun!?!?)
Okay, I see you guys changed your music section and put "Brand New Key" lyrics up. Who's the Glenn Beck fan here responsible for that? That song is too obscure to be known otherwise.
