Savannah Jack

Recently signed to Nashville-based McMurry Records, Savannah Jack possesses the tightest harmony of any group to come along in recent memory. It is obvious that the band loves making music and is having a blast, whether they are performing in a small venue in Nashville or playing in front of thousands of people in sold out amphitheatres across the country. If you haven't heard them yet, better get on board and get ready for a ride. If you don't, you don't know "Jack" . . . SAVANNAH JACK

While trios such as Lady Antebellum or newcomers The Band Perry lean toward soul-pop or acoustic sounds, this all-male trio’s tunes harken back to harmony-based groups of the ’90s such as Diamond Rio and Restless Heart. Don Gatlin handles the primary singing and songwriting duties, helping craft mini stories of the ins and outs of love. The tightknit harmonies on “Something’s Wrong in Vegas” evoke the Eagles, while the crunchy, funky ’80s groove of “Everything That Love’s Supposed to Do” is instantly ear-catching. The ballad “The Apple” (featuring an additional harmony by Vince Gill), with its lush blend of steel guitar and piano, tells the story of a man who commits to becoming a better man than his abusive father. The trio ends with a predictable but inspirational closer, “I Feel Your Pain” (co-written by artist Lee Brice). Fans who miss harmony-heavy country groups will like this trio.
