Formada no Rio de Janeiro em 1996 sob o nome Oráculo, a banda finca suas raízes no thrash metal com influências de bandas clássicas do estilo e que ajudaram a popularizar o gênero, tais como seus compatriotas do Sepultura; os americanos Slayer, Exodus, Testament e tríade alemã Kreator, Destruction e Sodom.
Já batizada como Savant, em 1999, lançam o primeiro registro, um EP com 5 músicas. “Portrait of Reality” foi lançado pela Varda Records e produção assinada por Carlos Lopes (Mustang, ex-Dorsal Atlântica). Este lançamento conseguiu atrair a atenção da mídia especializada na época, tanto nacional quanto internacional.
Com uma nova formação o Savant voltou em 2004 com um novo EP. “Evidence Elimination” trás a banda mais madura e a produção dessa vez é assinada por Sidney Sohn (Andralls, Heaven Falls, Tribuzy). Novamente boa receptividade dos principais canais especializados nacionais como as revistas Rock Brigade, Rock Magazine e Disconnected; o site whiplash; além de faixas executadas em rádios do México e Argentina.
Já em 2005 é dado o pontapé inicial para o projeto do que viria a se tornar o CD “No Hope”. Mais uma vez com produção de Sidney Sohn e a entrada de Marcelo Fishy na segunda guitarra, a banda entrou de cabeça no processo de criação.
O ano de 2006 foi totalmente dedicado a pré-produção do disco, com muitos ensaios e definição dos arranjos pela banda junto com o produtor.
A banda entra em 2007 com “No Hope” sendo lançado em julho com recursos totalmente independentes e uma maturidade de quem já conhece o mercado.
Um disco poderoso, correspondendo ao histórico de constante evolução desde o início do grupo em 1996.
Os integrantes encontram-se agora preparando todos os detalhes para a divulgação nos principais meios de comunicação especializados em música pesada e ensaiando repertório para os futuros shows.

This record got the attention of the specialized media at the time, national and international. With a new line up, Savant came back in 2004 with a new EP containing 4 tracks. “Evidence Elimination” brings the band more mature and that time the production was signed by Sidney Sohn (Andralls, Heaven Falls, Distraught and Tribuzy). Getting again a good feedback from the main specialized national magazines like Rock Brigade, Rock Magazine and Disconnected; the website Whiplash; also played in radios of Mexico and Argentina.
In 2005 the kick-off has been given for “No Hope” album. Once again with Sidney Sohn on production and the new guitar player Marcelo Fishy, the band got involved in the creation process.
The year of 2006 was totally dedicated for pre-production. The band along with the producer worked on the definitions of the arrangements and did many rehearsals.
The band starts in 2007 with “No Hope” being launched in July with total independent resources and a maturity of who already knows the market. A powerful record, corresponding to the description of constant evolution since the beginning, in 1996.
The band members are preparing all the details for the spreading in the main medias specialized in heavy music and choosing a set-list for the futures gigs.
