The Sudanese government, while publicly denying that it supports the Janjaweed, has provided arms and assistance and has participated in joint attacks with the group, systematically targeting the Fur, Zaghawa, and Massaleit ethnic groups in Darfur. The conflict began in July 2003. Unlike in the Second Sudanese Civil War, which was fought between the primarily Muslim north and Christian and Animist south, in Darfur most of the residents are Muslim, as are the Janjaweed.
Estimated number of deaths in the conflict have ranged from 50,000 (World Health Organization, September 2004) to 450,000. Most NGOs use 400,000, a figure from the Coalition for International Justice that has since been cited by the United Nations. As many as 2.5 million are thought to have been displaced.
U.S. Government has described it as war, the United Nations has failed to recognized its severity.
Will u stand beside the international community and do nothing? or help the people of darfur or will continually shun the fact that millions of children are dying and families are living off 2 cups of rice per month? Please please, all we can do is ask for ur help 3 seconds of your time will be enough even if it meant saving 3 lives. please talent, money, and support is needed from everyone. so please don't sit down and think this as nothing. because as we speak 3 people have been killed from round and rounds of AK47 bullets. All the world cares is securing "intelligence" with the Sudanese government and dilling oil to get rich which in turn funds all the killing, the rape, and the genocide.
Please send us any comments and questions. The first step to end this genocide is education.
