In 2003, after decades of neglect, drought, oppression and small-scale conflicts in Sudan’s western region of Darfur, two rebel groups mounted an insurgency against Sudan’s central government. The response was brutal. The government armed and supported local militias known as the Janjaweed. They wiped out entire villages, destroyed food and water supplies, and systematically murdered, tortured and raped hundreds of thousands of Darfurians. These attacks occur with the direct support of the Sudanese government’s armed forces.
Few Darfurians have been spared the violence. This scorched earth campaign has already claimed as many as 400,000 lives. It has spilled over into neighboring Chad and the Central African Republic. In all, about 2.3 million Darfurians have fled their homes and now reside in a network of internally displaced persons (IDP) camps in Darfur, with over 200,000 more living in refugee camps in Chad. These refugees and IDPs are completely dependent on the United Nations and other humanitarian organizations for even their basic needs – food, water, shelter, and health care. Approximately another 1 million Darfurians still live in their villages, under the constant threat of bombings, raids, murder, rape and torture.

Thanks so much for adding me. It breaks my heart to know the plight these people are in, and I for one would like to see some type of real relief for them. I believe that if the super powers of our world would put some significant pressure on the government of Darfur that possibly some head way could be made. Thanks again for including me. Kathy :)

Bien que le 48-Jaehrige la porte tienne en bloc et à nouveau commence, l'auteur a atteint l'entrée et a enfoncé le couteau dans rendre étanche de la porte avant. Ses deux personne de 19 ans et de 17- accompagnateurs courait également ensuite l'autobus. a frappé avec la main contre les vitres latérales. Des agents de police arrestation peu plus tard le Trio dans le Lissabonallee. Les jeunes hommes ont été étés angetrunken et congédiés après ouverture d'une procédure d'enquête contre le 18-Jaehrigen à cause d'une contrainte essayée. On conduit le 18-Jaehrige avec les autorités chargées de l'enquête en tant qu'auteur de seuil. Dont la police et le ministère public comprennent des criminels entre 14 et 21 ans qu'au moins cinq délits pénaux de force et/ou de vol ont commis. Auteurs intensifs et de seuil occupé des fonctionnaires assignés spécialement dans les commissariats taeterorientierte les déterminations des six directions de la police.
