STAND University of Houston: A Student Anti-Genocide Coalition sponsors a Save Darfur Walk, Sunday, May 4 from 7AM to 10AM.
This is a city-wide, inter-faith walk-a-thon to raise funds for the Save Darfur Coalition. It is also to raise public awareness of the crisis.The walk and registration will begin in front of the A. D. Bruce Religion Center. I will post up a flier this weekend.
There will be a speaker first, followed by a 5K Walk. It is not a competitive event.
You can either be an individual walker, or be a team captain and recruit 10 - 20 people to walk on your team.
Each person or team member should get sponsors. When you raise $100, you will receive a t-shirt with the walk logo on it.Please make checks payable to Save Darfur Coalition. RSVP at the Save Darfur website:

Co-sponsoring the event with STAND UH is the Political Science Department and Women's Studies Department at the University of Houston, UNICEF and Amnesty International.

Directions to this building from I-45 South (downtown)
- exit Cullen
- turn right on Cullen
- turn left into UH Entrance 13A
- you cannot reach this building by car, but the Religion Center is the white building at the far end of the gated parking lot

To obtain a visitor parking permit, come to the Visitor Information Center on Cullen Blvd in front of the Athletics/Alumni Center. For more directions call the Parking Dept at (713) 743-1097 or the Religion Center at (713) 743-5051.
The closest parking lots are 9C and 15F.
