The Ferris Wheel Project
For any newbies, here's the story of Everwood.......
Dr. Andrew Brown's (Treat Williams, Hollywood Ending, The Late Shift) own life changed forever the day his wife, Julia, died tragically in a car accident. Up until then, Andy was a world-renown neurosurgeon whose career always overshadowed his family obligations. Faced with the daunting task of raising his two kids, Ephram (Gregory Smith, Nearing Grace) and Delia (Vivien Cardone, A Beautiful Mind) by himself, Andy traded in the New York skyline for the vistas of the Rockies and settled in Everwood, Colorado, a charming and picturesque little town tucked in among majestic snowy peaks.
Andy opened up a free clinic for the citizens of Everwood and popular opinion was that he had lost his mind, but that didn't stop one local character, Edna (Debra Mooney, Tootsie), from applying for a job as his nurse and office manager. Andy's welcome wagon consisted of just three people: Edna, her husband, school bus driver Mr. Irv (John Beasley, The Apostle), and Andy's new neighbor, Nina Feeney (Stephanie Niznik, Guardian Angel, Vanishing Son). The person most disturbed by the new clinic was Edna's son and the only other doctor in town, Dr. Harold Abbott (Tom Amandes, television's The Untouchables). Initially, Dr. Abbott quickly forbade his wife Rose (Merrilyn Gann, Best in Show) and teenage children, Amy (Emily VanCamp, The Ring 2) and Bright (Chris Pratt, Strangers With Candy) to have anything to do with the Browns. However, over time Abbott warmed to Andy, and the two are now partners.
Ephram Brown fell for Amy Abbott the first time he saw her. The two finally dated last season and planned to attend college together on the east coast until a secret revealed tainted Ephram's life. Unbeknownst to him, his ex-girlfriend, Madison (guest star Sarah Lancaster), had his child. Learning Andy intentionally withheld this information, and that Amy also concealed the news, Ephram severed his ties with Everwood and fled to Europe.
As season four begins, Ephram returns after spending months away. In Europe, he experienced a revelation while backpacking around the continent - he is still in love with Amy Abbott. Ephram's homecoming stirs emotions in many people, most of all Andy. Repairing this relationship is foremost in Andy's mind.
Andy takes on a new challenge - surgery. Andy's free clinic continues to be his main focus, however, now and then he will choose surgeries in which he can be most useful. Andy also deals with his love for Nina, who has just asked Dr. Jake Hartman (Scott Wolf, Party of Five) to move in with her. The Andy/Nina/Jake triangle takes center stage. More changes abound for Andy as he contends with a preteen Delia.
In other Everwood developments, Ephram tutors a child prodigy hell bent on going to Julliard; The Abbotts continue to cope with Rose's cancer; Amy finds a new crush in medical student Reid Bardem (guest star Justin Baldoni); Bright and Hannah explore their new relationship after a summer spent apart; and Edna and Irv taste success as Irv's book is a hit.
