About me:

I started this with a good friend when I was 16. Unfortunately, Tasha seems to have fallen off the face of the planet and I haven't heard from her in a long time. Because of that, I'm going to leave what she wrote below.
I would like to take this opportunity to say that I am trying to gear the page to a more general women's rights theme. Of course, I am still passionately devoted to reproductive rights, but many other women's issues get overlooked and that's not quite right.

SIGN THE PETITION!

Being Pro choice does not mean that you support abortion in general! It means you support a woman's right to do what she wishes with her body!

Complaining on MySpace is not enough! We all need to speak up and take action. If we are loud enough we CAN make a difference! Write to your congressmen/senators/local legislatures. Tell them exactly how you feel (and how you plan to vote!)

.. Don't let the extreme right wing tell you what you can and can't do with your body!

.. Please be advised that we will not respond to any messages. We get entirely too many for that to be possible. We will do our best to reply to your comments, as we want to show you how much we appreciate your support, but it might take us a while to get back with you. Please don't take it personally if we don't, we appreciate all of you and all of your feedback, but there are only so many hours in a day!

We have posted separate blogs detailing our personal stance on this issue. Those blogs will serve as our one and only response to those who question our beliefs. Neither one of us feels that getting into internet arguing matches will make any bit of difference, and we feel our energy and enthusiasm will get better use if we focus solely on spreading the word and helping out in this uphill battle.

Thank you so much!
Tasha,and Leah

Who I'd like to meet:

Anyone who believes that women have the right to chose what happens with their own bodies. We are not advocating abortion as a form of birth control, and we wish not to associate ourselves with pro-choice extremists. We simply believe that no one has the right tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her own body. We believe that young people should be taught the importance of birth control and sexual health, and we want to make sure that places like Planned Parenthood are always available to help. But that will only happen if we all speak up. So stand up and speak out!
