~Winging Cat Rescue,Inc~ is a licensed Rescue in the State of Georgia..and 501c3 Non-Profit Organization. All donations are tax deductible!

Our Short term Goals: As a licensed rescue, our mission is to save Cats and Kittens from DeathRow,place in Foster care for adoption,and to transport to No-Kill Shelters or Cat Sanctuaries. In 2006 we rescued over 600 Cats & kittens,in 2007 approximately 800 & as of October 2008 we have rescued nearly 700.

Although we are located nationwide, we have focused (but not exclusive to) an Animal Control Pound in Griffin , Georgia. This pound uses inhumane Gas Chambers as their method of "euthanasia." We strongly oppose this barbaric methood and hope that someday Gas Chambers will be banned. Winging Cat Rescue has reduced the previous statistic of 95% euthanasia of all Cats and Kittens entering this pound to 5%-10%.

Our Long Term Goals: The Cat population explosion is of epidemic proportions. We are hoping to increase public awareness of this problem. We sponsored the first ever low/cost to establish a low-cost Spay/Neuter Program for area residents of Spalding County and to date have sponsored over a dozen of these events. We have also provided 1/2 price and free S/N vouchers for area residents who adopt directly from the pound.We have also provided first Vax to most Cats & Kittens while still in the pound to help reduce disease and to encourage adoption.

All of these programs take money and we rely soley on the generosity of private donations to support Vetting,Boarding and Transport of all rescued Cats as well as providing Vax and S/N vouchers.We wish to thank everyone for their generosity and support.
